Over 2 million Shock

Pretty damn good!

candycoated fair point....peoplehood....I generally like things where people come together for one cause...not to do with gender at all, though in this case obv, mainly women participating.....won't comment (yet) on 'sock on a cock' which, I believe, will be very much a brotherhood thing...

I just had to share this.

I totally love this pic, awesome looking dog, and made me think how much nicer my friends all looked without their makeup!!!

Are you guys not doing it right then?

I'm irish, all the selfies I've seen are accompanied with a screen shot of the €4 donation.
In about 36 hours there's been approx €500k raised for the Irish cancer society.

ilive Grin

I tried to share that on here yesterday, but my phone wouldn't do it :(

Lj8893 · 21/03/2014 23:41

About a 3rd of the selfies on my Facebook are accompanied by the donation screenshot gini

Quite a few donations without the selfie though!

BecksForMePlease · 22/03/2014 00:09

About 8 selfies come up when I log into FB, not a single one mentions any form of donation at all, or indeed any mention of cancer. It is just barefaced ego stroking, nothing more.
Just comments like "You defo don't need makeup xx your beautiful"

Greydog · 22/03/2014 07:51

Hell - a cock in a sock just arrived. That's one less friend. Oh, and no mention of any donations - just a cock in a sock....

pumpkinsweetie · 22/03/2014 08:00

These selfies and even cock in a sock are raising money for charity. If it does it's job don't knock it.

Fwiw I have done the no makeup selfie thing and donated by text as well as signed up to a monthly plan with cancer research.
I am ashamed to admit I didn't give before but this drive has given me the kick up the arse I needed and reminded me how quick these campaigns workSmile

If people don't want to see these pictures, don't look or even delete me if you want.

Some people complain for complaints sake and normally people that moan for britain anywayGrin
But this HAS raised money and much more so than those charity crimbo cards that give a measly 10p a box!

Spottybra · 22/03/2014 08:03

I'm against you all on this one. The campaign has nothing to do with raising awareness or knowledge of cancer - I will give you that point. But what is has done is successfully raised a huge amount of money very quickly. Therefore I cannot criticise it.

As a teen I watched my younger sister undergo chemo and wish I could take that treatment on her behalf. Therefore I did the no make self or and donated.

manicinsomniac · 22/03/2014 08:51

YANBU. Yes, it's raised money which I didn't initially realise so I feel less stabby about it.

But the whole attitude and implication behind it is so wrong.

This blog post sums up why perfectly:
