To have the rage that neighbours dog poos in the communal garden?

She is too lazy to ever take it out for a proper walk so let's it poo in the shared garden.

The children can't play in the garden as there are hidden poo piles everywhere. Her husband is a violent aggressive monster and is likely to post the poo bank through the letterbox as the least aggressive reaction to any complaints so in a bit of a pickle over this one.

How do I approach this with already strained relations with this particular neighbour?

AIBU in thinking she should take her dog to poo somewhere else?

If it's a communal garden, are there any authorities you can complain to? Landlord?

But she should clean it up. Complain to your landlord or housing association

Hah, the husband attacked my partner and the council did swfa to follow antisocial behaviour guidelines. With a police report confirming out version of events the council chose to believe the monster of a neighbour. So not anticipating they will do much. Worth a try but I'm worried about the come back to be honest - as I said the husband is a complete madman.

I should imagine its more a case of the dogs and neighbours not winning LouiseSmith. Poor dog, never getting walked. If the neighbour puts poo through your letterbox, would you not complain to the police OP?

Hey I share a garden with 24 different flats and it's not big and there are people that let their dogs poo everywhere and don't pick it up.
I have a 2 year old with autism who can't play out as he would play and possibly eat it as he eats anything literally, you are not being unreasonable she should at least pick it up if she doesn't want to walk it.
I phoned my council but due to no knowing the peoples flat numbers they can't do anything about it and can't come and clean it up.
Luckily for us it has helped us get to the top of the housing list for a 2 bedroom house due to my sons autism we need a ground floor entrance but the dog poo situation got him more points as he needs outdoor space.
I am hoping to move soon but if I were you I would phone your councils local environmental health office to make a complaint and see what there policy's are for this.

Oh god yes but I'd still have had poo on my letterbox and would prefer to avoid that in the first place. ??

Don't be annoyed that they use the garden for their dog, be annoyed that the skanky lazy gits don't pick it up.

Dog poo has toxoplasmosis so I don't want it pooing in the garden at all.

If she wants a dog fine I've no problem with that, if she wants it to poo in a garden fine, but said garden should be one where there are no children liable to roll around in the patch of poo left by her dog.

She is creating unnecessary risk in her laziness and I have the complete rage on the dogs behalf and of course my children's.

Someone in my street used some kind of spray-paint and sprayed a big white circle of paint around each dog poo pile in the street. It really made a point to people who were letting their dogs shit wherever they wanted, and it helped pedestrians to spot the poo piles.

I have a dog, I pick up his poo wherever, I might not do it immediately in my garden but I will on bin day / before the kids play out there....

Do you mean that the dog poo isn't picked up at all or that it's picked up but you are worried about the 'remains'?

If it's the former then YANBU but there is little you can do other than report it and hope that someone at the council takes action. If you are brave enough you could film it happening on your mobile and use that as evidence of their anti-social behaviour.

If it's the latter then you really can't do anything, and remember that dog poo is probably the least of your worries - fox poo is a lot worse and that is in almost every garden these days, urban and rural. Hedgehog poo is pretty toxic too (like black tar - impossible to get off jeans)

It's usually cats, not dogs, that are a toxoplasmosis risk. They poo wherever they like.
But yes she should definitely be clearing it up afterwards - and walking the dog properly.
However, one of our dogs never goes to the toilet on walks, never has. He always saves it for the garden and no amount of training has helped.
It's annoying but I pick it up and do a garden check twice a day. Leaving it is disgusting, especially if you share the garden.

Someone like Pedantichags neighbour who CBA to walk their dog is probably unlikely to worm their dog either.
So the risks of parasites from that dog is high Angry

It's vile and the sooner we move the better as basic common decency seems to evade these people. Lumps if poo and a violent nature have no endeared them nor made them capable of a reasonable discussion.

So I suppose no garden this summer.

And yes to cat and toxoplasmosis but can't stop cats pooing I suppose. If you could I would say exactly the same.

YANBU. It's absolutely DISGUSTING to inflict that on neighbours. Bloody animals (and no, I don't mean the dog).

I'm another one who has no idea what the damned if they do, damned if they don't comment means. It makes no sense. Totally not damned when they're not filling a shared garden that children might want to use with shit. Anyone who thinks that's remotely OK has a screw loose, to put it extremely generously.

Musicposy - one of my dogs does that too!! I thought he was really odd as none of my other dogs hold it in like that. I was led to believe that walking makes them poop but my pooch just won't do it. He has to go outside in the garden as soon as we get home. The other one goes anywhere! He is not fussed at all.
Op - not really much else you can do while the council look into it unless you want to clean it up yourself. Sorry Sad

what are the rules on a dog in a communal garden unattended , our neighbour lives down, she had her staffy just over a year, and leaves her front door open and the back door and lets her dog run in and out, she don't watch the dog either, the dog nearly got run over in the car park were the communal garden is none is fenced off so the dog can run in the street, the worst this is its jumps up at everyone and keeps nipping , we wont approach her as last time she got her brother to threaten us over another incident

Just like to point out that in your case 'lets' does not have an apostrophe because in the form you are referring to it is a contraction for 'let us' Grin No real advice on your AIBU though Confused
