To have just shouted at a horse rider outside my house

Have namechanged for privacy.

I am so angry right now. We sometimes (twice a year at most) get horses going past our house as we live around the corner from a small private farm. We live in a city, so it's quite a novelty when we hear the sound of "clip clop" outside.

About 20 mins ago we heard the sound of clip clop and I took DS to the front room to look outside. As we watched the horses go by one stopped and kind of turned around and SHITTED RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DRIVEWAY. Not a small bit...a big arse full of horse shit. And the rider laughed at her other horsey friends.

As soon as I saw it I put my shoes on and ran outside and the rider was going on her way again. Her friends had gone up ahead. I ran up to her shouting "excuse me" and she wouldn't stop. I shouted at her if she was going to clear up the horse poo outside my house and she replied "stop shouting at me" without even turning around to see I had a toddler in my arms.

I couldn't go any further because I was holding my DS and had left a sleeping baby inside.

Now I have a pile of horse shit outside my house, and I want to actually KILL this horse rider. Our road is a school route and I don't want children stepping in it but why the fuck should I have to clear it up? I am so pissed off. I want to get into the car and hunt down the fuckers and pull them back by their ears and tell them to clean it.

Goodnight, BigRed,

May you dream of nice clean shit free streets.

MiscellaneousAssortment · 04/03/2014 23:29

OP how dare you run flapping your legs and wellies all over the road and hurling karate kicks, and your poor defenseless toddler under the hooves of that horse whilst screaming like a air raid siren. Your big cape of crinkly plastic probably didn't help either, nor the big foam hand you wedged up the riders nose :)

muffinino82 · 04/03/2014 23:29

It was on the road. Now go to sleep.

My gods, 26 pages and it was in the road Shock I'm going to bed, night

NewBeginings · 04/03/2014 23:39

I think you are all being rather foal-ish

SelectAUserName · 04/03/2014 23:41

Figrus You are aware that looking out for and heeding riders' arm signals to slow down is a requirement of the Highway Code, don't you? I'd expect you to, you being such a good driver and all Hmm but it doesn't read as if you do.

"215

Horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles. Be particularly careful of horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles especially when overtaking. Always pass wide and slowly. Horse riders are often children, so take extra care and remember riders may ride in double file when escorting a young or inexperienced horse or rider. Look out for horse riders’ and horse drivers’ signals and heed a request to slow down or stop. Take great care and treat all horses as a potential hazard."

Maybe OP was just trying to stirrup trouble.

NewBeginings · 04/03/2014 23:51

The OP doesn't sound very stable if you ask me.

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 04/03/2014 23:55

a big arse full of horse shit was the mane problem here.

SelectAUserName · 04/03/2014 23:56

I think she should rein in her anger.

NewBeginings · 04/03/2014 23:56

SelectAUserName · 04/03/2014 23:57

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did, I thought she was flogging a dead horse.

Telling someone who is shouting at you for doing a legal activity to stop shouting at you isn't being rude.

Think of the alternatives OP. Horse rider says "you are right" and dismounts, hands you the reins so you can hold the baby one armed, while rider walks to the nearest shop selling shovels (I'm guessing you don't have one OP or you would have scooped it up and used it for your garden).

Meanwhile, the horse goes frantic as it is a herd animal and the other horses she is riding with disappear into the distance.

Alternatively, she drives round later with a shovel just to please you and causes a hold up while she picks up horse poo off the road. Rider is then run into and killed by a car which doesn't see her and which then swerves into the path of an articulated lorry which crashes, killing two pedestrians and the driver. Rider had mentioned your complaint, with a description of you and your address just before her journey to pick up shit so you are liable for this chain of events

LessMissAbs · 05/03/2014 00:09

OK, I made the last bit up (a bit like the OP) but its probably more likely than anyone being harmed by horse poo.

merrymouse · 05/03/2014 00:15

I'd like to point out that the horse rider in the OP is apparently a townie and the person who didn't understand the flappy hand is apparently a country dweller.

You do know that YOU would be responable if you caused the horse to bolt or kick out and god forbid the horse actully kicked you or your children you would have NO legal recourse because in the eyes of the law it WAS your stupid and reckless behavoiur that caused the incident in the first place (ok might only be in republic of ireland tho)

As my sister horse kicked out at a women after the stupid idiot ran up behind the horse and hit it because it pooed on "her" part of the road and when she tried to sue my sister and got the police involed she was the one in trouble and was cationed for reckless endangerment (as delbritatly causing an accident or interfaring with traffic which results in an accident which horses fall within is a crimanal offense)and the judge threw out the lawsuit as there wasnt a case to answer for even though the women involed was hospitalised with broken ribs (lucky to be alive tbh as she was kicked right in the chest)

Though I feel sorry for the women as apprently she wasnt able to work for 6 months as no one desives to be injuried even through thier own stupidity.
