I'm feeling utterly pissed off today!!!!! So is it ok to be excused from being a dick???????

RufusTheReindeer · 03/03/2014 09:37

I don't care if I'm a dick''!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just imagine me shouting loudly and in shock!

DeWe · 03/03/2014 09:43

Underuse makes you look far worse.

shakethetree · 03/03/2014 09:54

And saying people look like a dicks just because they use a few too many exclamation marks is well over the top. The only thing that annoys me ( on a vocabulary/punctuation level ) is posters who use swear words in thread titles, well it doesn't annoy me, just makes me think they're a bit immature.

MarmaladeShatkins · 03/03/2014 09:56

I generally tend to judge a poster based on how well they can sting a sentence together, their vocabulary and whether they fall into grammar traps such as would have/would of, should have/should of.

I use multiple exclamation marks sometimes but only ironically so that's OK. Wink

I find this really strange, how can you hold someone to account when they have had a shit education? Go and blame their school!

Well, when you only have the words that they type to base an opinion on, you kind of have to. It's not a great shocker.

I've never thought your posts were poor, Derek! Grin

Seriously though I have a decent brain but terrible spelling and stuff due to a learning disability - judge away - it doesn't bother me really but it makes you appear a bit of a cock x

MarmaladeShatkins · 03/03/2014 10:51

What is a cock x? Confused

gordyslovesheep · 03/03/2014 10:58

it's the word 'cock' and a little kiss x

I often end my posts with a x because I know it makes pedants itch all over

hth x

MarmaladeShatkins · 03/03/2014 11:00

Awww, thanks gordy!

The kiss doesn't make me itch but the lack of full stops do.

ThisSummerBetterBeDarnGood · 03/03/2014 11:01

Well yes, I look at the words and the meaning behind them, is the poster agreeing with my train of thought, is the poster being offensive, I dont notice the grammer.

gordyslovesheep · 03/03/2014 11:02

I'll. bare. that. in. mind. Grin .

MarmaladeShatkins · 03/03/2014 11:03

Notso in awe.

Ilovexmastime · 03/03/2014 12:52

As I said the last time this came up in a thread (they are quite regular aren't they, these types of threads?) .... I love exclamation marks!!!! And trailing dots.

If you think I'm unintelligent and/or a tit/dick for this then that is fine. You can't get on with everyone in life and I'm not keen on the sort of person who sneers at another's spelling/grammar/punctuation. So we're both happy!
