Good, all this manufacturing of paper products and the transporting them about isn't doing much for the planet, every little helps.

If you have elderly isolated relatives, here's a radical idea, phone them, or visit if you can, if you have Romany to budget stamps for.

It's the price of a chocolate bar, or a third of a coffee, so still good value.

For everyone else, txt and email/FB is fine and do much better for us all in the long run.

Holy shit, I've not lived in the UK for quite a few years now but at 62p for a 1st class stamp.

I have an involuntary "HOW MUCH???" moment every time I buy a book of stamps. In my head they're still 17p.

In fairness to them though, I do think the service is pretty good these days.

Well 62p worth of petrol won't get you far to deliver it yourself, so it's still pretty good value for money IMHO.
