I wore humongous granny pants after my cs 4 months ago...and I'm still wearing them! They're just soo comfy! I'm in my twenties. AIBU?

OP posts:
IdRatherPlayHereWithAllTheMadM · 25/02/2014 20:49

They are nothing more than genital floss and an efficient Thrush delivery mechanism. I wear shortlets in natural fibres only

Grin.

WorraLiberty · 25/02/2014 20:57

What sort of knickers were you all wearing beforehand, that means granny pants are now so much more comfortable?

Writerwannabe83 · 25/02/2014 20:59

I'm 35wks pregnant and in Granny pants and I'm having a C-sec in 4 weeks and have bought lots of granny pants in preparation for afterwards!! My current Granny Pants are size 16-18 (I worse size 8-10 underwear pre-pregnancy) and OMG they are just sooooo comfy!!!

I intend to wear granny pants for the very foreseeable future Grin

Koothrapanties · 25/02/2014 21:03

Dd is nearly 5 months (csection) and I'm still utterly in love with mine. They are going nowhere. I actually thought I was alone. I love mumsnet so much for threads like these.

GeordieJellybean · 25/02/2014 21:04

I'm so glad you posted this OP! I also had my baby 4 months ago and just can't let go of the giant post birth pants!

shewhowines · 25/02/2014 22:06

I bet some peoples definition of "granny pants" are different to others.

To someone used to thongs, moving to full briefs a couple of inches high, will be grannyish. My definition are the complete armpit huggers, of which I am proud to say I have not yet succumbed to. DH may describe some of mine as rather grannyish though

WorraLiberty · 25/02/2014 22:08

Oh right shewhowines

I've been sitting here thinking they're all wearing apple catchers Grin

I just wore my normal pre pregnancy knickers when pregnant and haven't changed my style since really.

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 25/02/2014 22:12

Nothing so sexy as someone who doesn't care what kind of pants they wear.

Grannies all the way here.

Chattymummyhere · 25/02/2014 22:14

Yeah to me granny pants are full briefs just enough to hold an always night time pad or a maternity pad... I didn't think anyone wore the old style ones...

I prefer my frenchies, some times thongs etc they don't irritate like the granny's do and I've so far never has thrush

GlaikitFizzog · 25/02/2014 22:14

ds is almost 3 and I still wear mine, I may have even bought more

Chattymummyhere · 25/02/2014 22:15

Bloody phone makes it look like I cannot spell or use correct words grrr kills iphone with its stupid auto crap=

mrsbug · 25/02/2014 22:21

I'm so glad it's not just me, dd is 14 months and I'm still in granny pants and no plans to change.

worra I used to wear the kinds of pants shops called 'minis'and they were always falling down or going up my bum crack Grin

AuditAngel · 25/02/2014 22:34

I used to have posh pants well I still do but they never come out of the drawer that matched my bras, I also had comfy high legs.

Now after 3 DC, 2 CS I have gone from high legs to midis to stop my CS overhang falling out of the leg holes I find that if I wear pants that don't come to my waist they just roll down and collect under my overhang.

Vintagecakeisstillnice · 25/02/2014 22:43

Another child free granny pant wearer.

Just to say Marisota do nice ones, nice colours patterns etc, just saying.

stopgap · 26/02/2014 00:28

I find thongs incredibly comfortable. Four weeks postpartum with DS2, and the cheapo granny pants have once again been binned.

holidaysarenice · 26/02/2014 00:52

Do you also take your pretty pants out on the pull in your handbag?!

Yes I win, hands down!

Just don't let the granny pants fall out of your bag......

ScrambledeggLDCcakeBOAK · 26/02/2014 01:08

29 never given birth been in black m&s granny pants since mid 20's Grin

Poor poor dp!

BOFtastic · 26/02/2014 01:15

Comfy, lovely cotton pants, oh yes. Call it 'retro' and you're a hipster. Not a hipster knickers-wise, mind...

MrsMook · 26/02/2014 03:59

My wrinkled overhang has been tucked in for 3 years now. My bugbear is that when back in my regular size, 34b/ size 8 bra combinations with a high waist don't exist. It's nearly 4 years since I wore matching underwear and that's not through choice.

There must be plenty of small women who feel more attractive when they've tucked the spare flesh away.

YankeeMum8 · 26/02/2014 04:28

YANBU but I couldn't do it!! I'm 50 and wear either bikinis or what they call "cheekies" here. They go up halfway in the back to expose your "cheeks" but not all the way up like thongs (which I have lots of as well!). I wore grannies when I had ds 12 years ago but went back to bikinis ASAP. Just personal preference :)

olympicsrock · 27/02/2014 06:01

Another fan of granny pants. Not the baggy cotton ones . Got to be the body shaper ones from M and S. I had a cs with DS 2 year ago. When I went back to work I bought a new wardrobe of granny pants and control slips - definitely the best way to smooth the lumpy bits.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 27/02/2014 06:09

Sloggis here! What's not to love, comfy, no vlp. Women of the world, stand up proudly and embrace your inner granny!

nirishma · 27/02/2014 10:50

Oh YA definitely NBU.

I too am in my mid twenties and a fan of the Asda granny pants. I did notice a downward trend in sexy time with my husband however so alas I do have to prance about in a ghastly limited collection thong from time to time to pique his interest. Mind you the black lace top granny pants from asda seem to do the trick for him too so I can have it both ways Grin.

I recommend you invest in a pack of those as the lace top looks a little sexy but also is particularly good at covering my post pregnancy tummy overhang, so I'm thinking it would cover your c-sec scar too!

I'm weaning DD of breastfeeding now so I'll have to wear proper lady underwear again soon in practice for going back to work :s

Lagoonablue · 27/02/2014 10:55

Sloggi midis for me. Not as big as granny pants but very comfy and stretchy.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 27/02/2014 10:55

My dh is partial to m and s lacy short things and the really silky control pants, aka sucky in pants. but if you'd ever seen my humongous rear in anything else you'd understand why
