There are always shit tons of olives and about 4 pieces of feta! Why god why?

I share your pain, OP. it's rubbish. I just mix my own now. You should too.

formerbabe · 23/02/2014 20:26

I agree completely!

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 23/02/2014 20:26

I think I'll start otherwise I'm going to be sad every time I buy them. I love the feta but it becomes like a precious stone due to it's rarity Grin

Make your own.

mrstigs · 23/02/2014 20:29

Oh I love olives and feta. Only black olives though, can't get on with green ones. Either way I agree if you buy it premixed it's rubbish. I just buy a block of feta then some olives from the deli counter, then you don't get an uneven mix and you can eat both together. drools

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 23/02/2014 20:30

I'm going to start doing that Mrs, but I think the feta/olive ratio will do the other way when I do it Grin

And sometimes you get random bits of red pepper lobbed in there too, just so as to dilute the feta ratio further. Is feta really that rare a beast? Feta farming may be the way to go.

fieldfare · 23/02/2014 20:33

Definitely do it yourself, then you can put garlic in and sundried tomatoes too!

edwinbear · 23/02/2014 20:34

Buy the olive and feta mix and an extra block of feta to chop up and add.

Trills · 23/02/2014 20:37

I like edwinbear 's suggestion.

mrstigs · 23/02/2014 20:41

Garlic? Adding garlic? But then the feta would be all... garlicky! Shock

BlackDaisies · 23/02/2014 20:44

I used to think the opposite, forcing myself to eat the seemingly endless lumps of tasteless feta contaminating the olives. Til I realised I could just buy a tub of olives! Sorry not much help to your thread I know.

whois · 23/02/2014 20:58

Buy jar, eat, then mix your own and use the nice oil and jar :-)

whois · 23/02/2014 21:00

No that nice marinated garlic clove thingy you sometimes get a few of in olive mixes, it's not strong tasting at all and you can buy big packs of it from ethnic type shops.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/02/2014 21:20

Oooh I'm not keen on feta (too salty and tastes a bit goaty Confused ) but I love halloumi with olives.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 23/02/2014 21:35

Ooh I like the reusing of the oil idea Smile

I feel short changed when feta's been added, pure olives is the way forward!

Nocomet · 23/02/2014 22:29

Fine by me, I don't much like Feta, DH does, there is usually enough feta for one.

fieldfare · 26/02/2014 21:25

Yes, yes! to Whois!
I didn't mean raw garlic, but the more gentle tasting marinated cloves of garlic you can buy from the olive stall at the market.
