Am I being unreasonable to think that Zimbabwe would be better off without this man . In a country where the average life expectancy is early 50s is it not disgusting that this 'leader' will be celebrating his 90th birthday with a £600,000 party this weekend ,when he returns from Singapore where he receives his healthcare !

Of course YANBU. You're hardly alone in thinking so.

beachesandbuckets · 21/02/2014 16:00

Makes my blood boil.

LaurieFairyCake · 21/02/2014 16:01

Lol at him being 'healthy' as the reason Grin

He is an evil, murdering scumbag and the world would fairly obviously be better off without him.

I hope he rots in hell. Soon.

FoxesRevenge · 21/02/2014 16:02

Can we add Kim Jung Un to the list of 'the world would be better off without ....'

DarlingGrace · 21/02/2014 16:04

I got all excited then - I hoped this was a notification of death thread

YouStayClassySanDiego · 21/02/2014 16:06

Well, he's one of a number of nasty bastards the world could do without.

I imagine most right thinking people would want shot of him.

tethersend · 21/02/2014 16:08

I tell you who else wasn't very nice. That Hitler.

Helpyourself · 21/02/2014 16:10

Darling me too!
Grin tethers

FoxesRevenge · 21/02/2014 16:11

How long before David Cameron is added to this thread Grin

Floralnomad · 21/02/2014 16:13

Someone was saying on radio 5 today that he will never just cede power because that would leave him open to prosecution ,sadly it is a case of wishing him dead.

Now Stalin. There was a monster you could rely on.

VulvaBeaker · 21/02/2014 18:00

YANBU. It's not my phrase, but someone once called him the black Hitler and it's stuck with me. Most fitting.

Juliaparker25 · 21/02/2014 18:07

Ahhhhh Butcher "BOB" Mugabe , A fine and decent human being Not

Awitchwithoutchips · 21/02/2014 18:13

Shit! I got all excited thinking hurrah the old bastard is dead too! Hoping it's soon then

JaquelineHyde · 21/02/2014 18:27

DH is Zimbabwean and still has lots of family out there. Last year his Dad was caught by government soldiers (unofficial obviously) and was beaten so badly he couldn't walk for weeks.

Everything is falling apart and yet Mugabe and his cronies continue to thrive. It makes me sick.

However, his death won't change anything, there are so many people ready to step into his place it will just be a simple replacement and then back to normal.

horseycoursey · 21/02/2014 18:34

Yanbu. He is a murderer and has destroyed the country once described as the breadbasket of Africa. I don't see any likeness to David Cameron Foxes, last time I checked he wasn't issuing orders to pillage and murder his citizens Confused

joven · 21/02/2014 18:40

Its amazing how little attention he gets - they have been running concentration camps in NK for over 50 years. People talk about the horrors of Nazi camps, yet apparently are apathetic to thousands of people enduring that same suffering at this very moment.

chunkythighs · 21/02/2014 22:21

I would love to understand why the African Union support the bastard so much.

phantomnamechanger · 21/02/2014 22:26

I thought he'd died too! Really is a nasty piece of work - I know someone who's actually met him.

Tiredemma · 21/02/2014 22:27

It's the fear that he puts into people, even thousands of miles away.

I did a night shift last year at work and was just chatting to a healthcare assistant in the nursing office about oppressive regimes (as you do.....) also in the office was a Staff Nurse from Zimbabwe, we started discussing RM but the staff nurse was terrified of engaging in the conversation. He truly feared that his opinion would somehow reach Zimbabwe and he could be in danger.

What an awful way to live. Having that fear.

wol1968 · 21/02/2014 22:27

Hmmmm. Can't someone slip cyanide into his champagne?

IdRatherPlayHereWithAllTheMadM · 21/02/2014 22:28

me too - thought he had died.

joven

Agree, the atrocities are beyond inhumane, years of terror and nazi camp like conditions - hundreds of thousands in them, for minor things that are not even what we would call crimes, three generations of families wiped out, hideous wicked crimes and the international community does...nothing. The entire country is one big prison camp, far worse than iraq and libya etc.

phantomnamechanger · 21/02/2014 22:31

I can well believe that tiredemma the thing is when you have actually seen first hand the evil corrupt regimes and the way they hold power and have people living in fear, that must stick with you and you'd fear anything was possible, because you KNOW that unbelievable, unthinkable, utterly awful things do happen

people making daft remarks about David Cameron etc need to do some research into what really goes on in the rest of the world

Piscivorus · 21/02/2014 22:32

I am old enough to remember when we all thought Rhodesia (as Zimbabwe was then) would be improved by independence. So sad that this man has destroyed so much and so many lives into the bargain

Maybe global warming is a side effect of the fires of hell stoking up ready for him!

complexnumber · 21/02/2014 22:33

And yet we all thought he was wonderful at the time of independence in the late 70's early 80's.

Power corrupts and all that..
