Working with my boss at the desk facing mine this afternoon, all personal belongings still on my desk. Her boss comes along to ask her something, stands at my desk then proceeds to turn my (personal) phone screen on and read the messages that I hadn't yet opened!! AIBU or is it wrong of him to disrespect my privacy in this way, regardless of how high in the company he might be???

Get a swipe lock app, then people can't do that.

No, I check my phone when it goes but don't sit all day texting or anything. And it was locked, thankfully - but there were a couple of preview messages that had come through since I had been away from my desk. And sadly, my 'outrage' button is on mute so I just watched him looking shocked and saying nothing!

You can change the settings so you don't get the preview. Not that you should have to though! Maybe he did it absent mindedly??

No, it was deliberate - he read the preview and smiled to himself, then me.

Why on Earth would he do that? Did he think it was his phone, perhaps he has the same one? Did he say anything? How odd.
