I don't think IABU but prepared to be argued with. The man has no morality and I don't think he is a force for good in this world. The news today just adds to the pile of dodginess.

and in my work I have met a few psychopaths and some are so convincing its scary

MarmaladeShatkins · 20/02/2014 21:34

YANBU. Odious little slimeball, he is.

Why has he not been hauled up at The Hague? Tony Blair: the acceptable face of war crime.

MarmaladeShatkins · 20/02/2014 21:37

Yy to the psychopath ponderings, too. Have often wondered the same myself.

SauceForTheGander · 20/02/2014 21:45

What about Cherie?

Treaclepot · 20/02/2014 21:46

As I cheered the tories demise i 1997, I remember the trepidation of this slimy shit of a creep.

RIP John Smith how different it could have been.

Mignonette · 20/02/2014 21:49

A MNer postedsomething intriguing a few weeks ago in which allegations of arms dealing, underhand activities with v v dangerous people and payday loan investments were described.

It ended along the lines of a strong likelihood of this person being assassinated/put down by one of the unsavoury characters played off against one another in the pursuit of glory and money.

Nokidsnoproblem · 20/02/2014 21:49

To anybody defending Blair:

Please Google 'Tony Blair' and 'D-notice'

There are no excuses for that. He is a monster.

x2boys · 20/02/2014 21:52

she may too tbh I never paid a lot of attention to her but she appeared false Tony did nt iyswim?

Mignonette · 20/02/2014 21:55

To be honest Nok There have been plenty of Tory Paedophiles too. It isn't something confined to any one political persuasion.

One thing that I find rather Hmm is that to date we have only seen a parade of over the hill entertainers taken to court. Apparently not one high level single member of the judiciary, politics, the health and social care system and the police has been arrested and charged.

Remarkable, that.

meditrina · 21/02/2014 04:59

Well, there's a whole separate thread about Labour MPs and public support for PIE.

But I think it's a bit if a side issue here; as though I condemn Blair unreservedly on many issues, I do not think he has ever supported sharp reductions in or abolition of age of consent for children.

tb · 21/02/2014 10:52

He also removed the right for trial by jury for some offences/in some courts iirc.

I can't help but think how fetching he would look in an orange prison-issue jump suit with his permatan.

MamaMary · 21/02/2014 11:28

While I think this thread is a little OTT in places, what I will remember about the Blair years is that they introduced university fees. This will have lasting repercussions for generations.

Free third level education is what raised my parents (both of them) from very poor, working class backgrounds into the middle class with good solid professions. They could never have afforded to go to university without their fees paid and the maintenance grants. My parents heavily subsidised my university years. Now I fear I will not be able to afford to send my DCs to uni when they are of an age.

I couldn't believe there wasn't an uproar when Blair brought in fees, a move that even Thatcher wouldn't have contemplated. You can't get much more right-wing than privatising education, which is essentially what he introduced. :(

SirChenjin · 21/02/2014 11:32

There was an uproar - but a more muted one than if it had been a Tory Govt that had introduced them Hmm. He created an academic world which is nothing more than a business in many cases, churning out thousands of heavily indebted students with meaningless degrees.

Yes2014 · 21/02/2014 11:52

Agreed, the beginnings of privatising education started with Blair and will end under Gove, unforgivable. Remember Labour students wheeling out their 'why should a bus driver support your degree' balls with depressing regularity.

Blair in Guantanamo tb? Nice!

YANBU - filthy fucking labour scumbag

Sallyingforth · 21/02/2014 12:21

I wonder what Blair would think if he read this tribute to him?
Would he feel ashamed that so many people hate what he has done to this country?
Or would he think, "Haha! I've stuffed them all, made a fortune, got away with it all and they can't touch me!"

YouStayClassySanDiego · 21/02/2014 12:30

Sallying I honestly don't think he could give two short shits what anyone thinks of him.

He has the hide of a rhino and an unshakable sense of superiority.

SirChenjin · 21/02/2014 12:56

He wouldn't care Sally. He believes that he was right, that he was working on the best information available to him, and that only God will judge him. Plus he's too busy counting his grubby pounds - I'm sure I read somewhere that he's now the richest ex-PM this country has ever had.

Vevvie · 21/02/2014 12:59

Can't believe the D notice, slimeball. Along with the cottaging. Shock

DoctorTwo · 21/02/2014 16:05

The Evening Harold loves him too. :o

Mimishimi · 22/02/2014 07:40

YANBU, I wish Bush, Blair, Cheney etc pretty much the same fate as their close pal Sharon - the butcher of Beirut. They were all thick as thieves ... oh hang on... that's exactly what they are!!

Rabbitcar · 22/02/2014 07:57

He scares me. Despite being a Labour voter, I think of him as pure evil.
