I don't think IABU but prepared to be argued with. The man has no morality and I don't think he is a force for good in this world. The news today just adds to the pile of dodginess.

Good defence team Rebekkah - let's just deflect onto someone else, and watch everyone react.

AgentProvocateur · 19/02/2014 22:09

YANBU. He's a slimy, amoral warmonger. And a hypocritical liar. I hate him with a passion. (Can you tell?)

Sallyingforth · 19/02/2014 22:10

He has string of fancy houses, and tax-dodging schemes galore. And the fucking cheek to call himself a socialist.
They really are a horrid couple.

livingzuid · 19/02/2014 22:16

Yanbu. I hated him and his cheesy Cheshire cat grin was my immediate reaction when I saw he got elected to lead the opposition. Totally untrustworthy.

He has been our most warmongering prime minister as well. I marched against the invasion of Iraq, proud when politicians stood up to him like the late Robin Cook. And all those insipid women in his cabinet and them pedalling Catholicism under the table with his wife poking her nose in unwanted most of the time. It was a relief when Brown took over for a bit.

He should be tried for crimes against humanity. Dreadful man.

daisychain01 · 19/02/2014 23:00

Wantsunshine · 19/02/2014 23:05

Wow! I really thought I would be a lone voice on mumsnet in my hatred of this slimeball. My faith in humanity is restored!

catslave · 19/02/2014 23:11

What? No! He is so charming and his clothes are so good - he has such lovely legs and butt... Oh shit oh shit oh shit I have just outed myself as Wendi Deng.

  • never has any story made me want to vom on my cornflakes before that.
Yes2014 · 19/02/2014 23:14

Haha Wendy Deng!
Warmonger..... vs........ Nice ass

BreconBeBuggered · 19/02/2014 23:17

He is a duplicitous little shit.

I hope you weren't hoping for a fight, OP.

Yes2014 · 19/02/2014 23:22

More seeking affirmation- a bad habit I know, but typical of AIBU I reckon.
Seriously though, the Blair years are going to be judged by history as worse than the Thatcher years I think. And not just because of Coldplay.

Yes2014 · 19/02/2014 23:25

I really feel he was the death of all hope for a decent, humane world, and the final triumph of a destructive ideology. Wanker!!

OP posts:
HighBrows · 19/02/2014 23:33

I love that you all hate him. He is despicable.

Bluestocking · 19/02/2014 23:34

YANBU. Is there no depth to which this venal, self-promoting moral vacuum of a man will not sink? He is disgusting.

HighBrows · 19/02/2014 23:34

A brief history of David Kelly rip.

SauceForTheGander · 19/02/2014 23:39

YANBU

well done to those who saw through him. I was so convinced a labour leader was what we needed after growing up under Thatcher that I fell for all of it. Sad

My grandmother kept telling me how vile him and Cherie were but I put it down to her being a Tory. (But that's daft because she loved honest lefties and hated some Tories! )

I'm beyond excited to see his increasingly isolated position. It's almost as if social media was made for this.

Amicus1966 · 19/02/2014 23:46

I don't really give a toss about his politics but I do however believe he had a hand in the death if Dr Kelly so that makes him evil.

Quagmiretwins · 19/02/2014 23:52

Still gob-smacked that the man who started the Iraq war, with all the ongoing death and destruction, was rewarded with the job of Special Envoy to the Middle East.

DioneTheDiabolist · 20/02/2014 00:17

As the verdict returned is unanimous, I hereby sentence The Right Honourable Anthony (call me Tony) Charles Lynton Blair (not son of Lionel) to life imprisonment in the shittiest, most overcrowded, G4 prison. Where he will wear a Bopeep dress and share a cell with GW Bush. I furthermore order that once a day he be taken from his cell and subjected to waterboarding for a period of no less than 37.38 minutes and no more than 5hrs 51.04 minutes.

No parole.

Ever.

Post Script
The above is a revised sentence which followed a ruling from the EU Court of Human Rights. The Court deemed being locked up with GW Bush for 24hours a day "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" hence the introduction of Waterboarding. The Right Honourable Member Blair was grateful for this ruling.

longfingernails · 20/02/2014 00:29

He won the general election 3 times by appealing to the centre of British politics. The Labour party and the broader left have never forgiven him for it.

I hate him for my own reasons. He let in millions of unskilled immigrants who are a drain on our society's resources, and who have no inclination to integrate. He wasn't strong enough to stand up to Gordon Brown, thereby allowing socialism to creep into various aspects of our nation. And he decided to fight the war in Iraq when the correct policy would have been to relentless focus on Al Qaeda and senior Taliban in Afghanistan quickly and efficiently, then bring our brave troops home.

Nevertheless, I was extremely happy when he retired. If Tony Blair had stayed PM until 2010, I don't think David Cameron would be PM today. I loathe Cameron's wetness, but at least his party's instincts are generally sound.

AuntieStella · 20/02/2014 06:50

I doubt that he could have had David Kelly bumped off.

But I remember being utterly horrified at the duplicity of the Labiur spin machine when, after Kelly had said that he thought the spin was beyond what the evidence could bear, they started on about how they hadn't fabricated anything. They hadn't been accused of fabrication.

What Kelly actually said has been totally vindicated.

I really don't get why anyone would trust Labour again, until all the Tony cronies are gone, at least.

Dinnaeknowshitfromclay · 20/02/2014 06:59

TB was/is the worst person to happen to politics and the country as a whole ever.

HermioneWeasley · 20/02/2014 07:02

I loathe him. I shudder and have to look away when he's n TV.

Dinnaeknowshitfromclay · 20/02/2014 07:04

Oh and then he claims to be a devout Christian! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Everything about him makes my skin crawl!

YouStayClassySanDiego · 20/02/2014 07:06

He threw David Kelly to the wolves and that other cunt Alistair Campbell was also equally at fault for his obsession to bring down the bbc.

Blair was the top dog then who continues to think he is untouchable.

I hope Murdoch has Blair in his sight, both twats but I'd love Murdoch to bring him down.

SauceForTheGander · 20/02/2014 07:16

Would Murdoch turn on Blair? Blair is godfather to his DDs.

Though that Wendy Deng thing was very strange - was she trying to suggest her and TB were an item or just that she had a crush?

Anyway - I agree with so much above.
