To think standards are slipping

Went into a Chemists this afternoon, to collect a prescription for my daughter. The pharmacist - yes, the gentleman running the joint, not just a menial on the counter - asked me to "just take a seat over there, darling."

I took this to mean a) He thinks I'm a senior citizen b) Whether he thinks a or not, he is still incredibly patronising/sexist, and c) the standards required to become a medically-related professional these days are slipping.

AIBU, loves? Wink

I wonder how many times you have ignored the female pharmacist as you think she is the menial on the desk?

Megrim · 18/02/2014 19:45

Nah, he fancied you. Obviously.

Lizzzyy, there were only two men working there, so by process of elimination (OK, age), I gathered one of them was in charge of the other.

Megrim, you're probably right. Thanks for pointing this out Smile

YABVVU!

Just don't go back in with a prescription for Preparation H. You'll shatter his illusions.
