to think it is impossible to have a lighthearted thread on Mumsnet anymore, even if it has the dreaded *lighthearted* in the title?

Cos I can't think of one for yonks.

The only ones that people claim to "spray tea over their screen at" all turn out to be silly attention seekers who don't know how to check their autocorrect before posting, or pervy singletons posting to get their sad little kicks.

Please someone show me a good humoured and amusing thread from anywhere on the general boards in the last three months.

LBE that's what I meant about the Peter being ruded thread but you say it better. Grin

The best funny threads are unintentionally so IMO.

MardyBra · 16/02/2014 09:44

Yanbu. The upside is that I waste far less time on her than I did a couple if years ago.

Where's the ruded Peter thread btw? Can't find easily on search.

Pagwatch · 16/02/2014 09:46

Yes . Everything LadyBeagleEyes said about Peter being ruded. Ditto PenisBeaker.
Just awful.

Sparklingbrook · 16/02/2014 09:51

Did the Peter one end up in classics? Please no

What was Peter Being Ruded?

I still find humour on here but yes it has to be spontaneous, witty and very silly. Not contrived.

Worra posted something yesterday about the defences people give for reading their partner's texts and I genuinely did lol.

Pagwatch · 16/02/2014 09:56

That was the 'accidentally striking the keypad sequentially with erect nipples' post, wasn't it?

MardyBra · 16/02/2014 09:56

Aibu to ask what happened to the texting thread? Just got the deletion message. I presume the PO came on.

ItitwrongtofancyHarryStyles · 16/02/2014 09:57

Yes Pag!

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 16/02/2014 10:03

It's because I haven't been here.

But fear not, comedy-lackers.

I am back.

And I've brought a present

Sparklingbrook · 16/02/2014 10:05

Hurrah! SayCool is back. And so is TWC. Grin

Slubberdegullion · 16/02/2014 10:05

Because of the Japanese Knot Weed of AIBU nowtyness any thread anywhere on mn about anything has the potential to go all cross. It's pointless trying to change mn so you might as well just go with the flow and expect your lovely jolly thread of daffodils have a sprout of angry person appear at some point.

Putting lighthearted in the title is a colossal waste of time.

Sparklingbrook · 16/02/2014 10:08

Right. We need to embrace the chippiness, and become chippy ourselves possibly. Fight fire with fire and all that.

Everybody from now on is BU unless they can prove beyond reasonable doubt otherwise.

Bring it on......

MardyBra · 16/02/2014 10:08

"Lighthearted" in the title is the equivalent to someone who says "I'm mad, me". Or has a little sign saying "You don't have to be mad to work here but it helps".

Still can't find rude Peter.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 16/02/2014 10:12

I don't see 'light hearted' like that. I see it as 'every time I come on here I get the shit kicked out of me, today just for once can you be nice'.

MardyBra · 16/02/2014 10:15

I also see it as having to pander to people with zero sense of irony. If they can't get mn humour they should just fuck back off to NMs.

MardyBra · 16/02/2014 10:16

And will someone please tell me where to find the fucking Peter thread.

Before I explode.

Sparklingbrook · 16/02/2014 10:18

Sorry Mardy I have been searching but no luck. It was about 2 weeks ago. Sure it had 'ruded' in the title. I am looking-honest!

Mintyy · 16/02/2014 10:20

I think some people put "lighthearted" in the thread title just because they are desperate for it not to descend into a fight and they really don't mean to offend anyone. I don't see it as an attention-seeking thing, more a disclaimer.

I find Twitter bewildering. Am going get with the kidz and start me an account on Snap Chat.

Agree with Mardy. Again

Mintyy. That's what cybbo said. And getorf. Come on over. I'm
Bored so I have time to give.

MardyBra · 16/02/2014 10:21

Aw bless you sparkling. I'd been searching the last week. Will extend.
