Soup and cheese

When I was on holiday I discovered the delicious soup and cheese combo, which I didn't even know was a thing before!

Does anyone else have soup with grated cheese in it?

In the interests of my stomach, what soups and what cheeses do people like together?

Mmmm - soup with poached egg, grated cheese on top and under the grill. I might give it a try.

I much prefer soup with cheese on it. I had very strange looks in a cafe once when I ordered tomato soup and a cheese roll with the cheese outside of the roll.Shock
You should have seen their faces when I added it to the soup!

French onion with cheese on toast on top, very nice.

I've also had soup in Spain with a fried egg in the bottom, sounds odd but was lush.
