Just that really. It's a fantasy novel set 10,000 odd years in the future and I Am Done! SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Do you recommend it then? What is the book?

KimCarcrashian · 10/02/2014 01:20

Well done Smile

Coumarin · 10/02/2014 01:20

Seriously impressed. Well done!

MsMarvel · 10/02/2014 01:20

Is it a book you have written? If so, very well done!! Will need to let us know when it gets published and it can become one of the mumsnet signs. If you have the scarf and the book, you know you're a mumsnetter!!

Coumarin · 10/02/2014 01:21

Oh I meant I'm seriously impressed if you mean you've finished writing your book today!

Not that impressed of you've finished reading one. Grin

NadiaWadia · 10/02/2014 01:29

Oh, I just assumed OP meant the book she was reading!

Topaz25 · 10/02/2014 01:45

Congratulations! Yay!

2kidsintow · 10/02/2014 02:26

Oh, I love a fantasy novel .

If you want a proof reader, OP........

Wink

How is this AIBU? Don't be so lazy to just dump all your thoughts in here , find an appropriate board.

JumpingJackSprat · 10/02/2014 07:38

Well done op its a major achievement. Do you have a publisher? As a aside ignore pixie clearly they were appointed board police and nobody told the rest of us.

Dwerf · 10/02/2014 07:54

Well done!

Bloody great feeling isn't it? I do the nanowrimo challenge (50k in 30 days) and the first time I completed it, I cried with relief and joy.

I have fallen out with my latest endevour and we're sulking with each other.

Rollermum · 10/02/2014 07:57

Yay well done! I'm trying to write a book at the moment - v inspiring.

LisaMed · 10/02/2014 08:10

Well done!!!!

I think that the hardest thing about writing isn't inspiration or plotting or character. I think it's actually sitting down and getting the words out.

So impressed.

grapelovingweirdo · 10/02/2014 13:04

You lovely people! Thanks for your replies! Sorry, I was sleeping it off :D It would be lovely if someone could proofread for me. I'm very low on funds though so have no budget :P

I've been writing it for three years, I've never written a book before so this is the first time for everything!

LST - Congratulations!!!

Great stuff. But are you posting this in order to seek out a proof reader? You've basically said "proof read my book... for bupkis!" People don't proofread for poops and giggles, luv. They do it to earn a living. No one will feel as passionate about your book as you do. It's your baby. But don't expect a proofreader to do your book justice out of pure love and joy. You need to pay them and pay them properly. Good luck. You've got a ladder to climb.

wordfactory · 10/02/2014 14:02

Well done OP.

I am a writer too.

This morning I spent five hours finishing an editing job. I feel so free.

squoosh · 10/02/2014 14:09

Congratulations! Is this your first draft or is this properly finished?

DrNick · 10/02/2014 14:09

why could this be unreasonable fgs?

use the proper topic

grouches off

KittensoftPuppydog · 10/02/2014 14:29

congratulations! It's a great feeling, but after a while you'll start thinking of improvements...

ineedabodytransplant · 10/02/2014 15:14

grapelovingwierdo, I will happily proof-read it for gratis. I love reading and I love sci-fi.
Just as long as you can take constructive criticism Grin

Pigeonhouse · 10/02/2014 15:21

Congratulations, OP. Am also working on a novel, but today hasn't been particularly prolific.

Give us a flavour - what happens 10000 years in the future?

FoxesRevenge · 10/02/2014 15:47

I wonder if mumsnet will still be around in 10000 years Grin

grapelovingweirdo · 10/02/2014 18:48

Mumsnet will be around for sure. Ha! Just to make it clear, I'm not touting for a proofreader! A couple of lovely posters mentioned it and I responded.

I've been a long term member of this forum and just wanted to share my achievement. I'm so used to posting when things go wrong that I wanted to post something nice for a chance.
