For anyone that doesn't know what this is -its a drinking game

You nominate someone to down a drink
They then film themselves doing it and post the film on Facebook
Once they've done it they nominate one of their friends and the cycle continues

People have died playing this stupid game yet tonight I've had people popping up on Facebook yes I know I know playing this game, people I thought were quite sensible and all of them over 30

I've just received a nomination and have just deleted that person

AIBU?

Big of an over reaction to delete someone!

I'm just going to cross-post my thoughts on the recent death reported in the news, from Facebook:

"Right, "Neknomination" - upload a video to Facebook of you downing a pint, then challenge someone else to do the same. A stupid game, but what's new?

A teenager in Ireland gets challenged by a mate to down a pint. He decides to be flashy, and plans out a recording that involves him downing a pint, and then jumping in to the River Barrow. His brother agrees to film it.

Let's be entirely clear - the game is to drink a pint. Not to throw yourself in to a river.

Did a pint of beer kill this lad? No. Did peer pressure kill this lad? No. Did jumping in to a river kill this lad? Yes.

Now, can we stop demonising alcohol and start calling people out for doing stupid things?"

17leftfeet · 03/02/2014 23:04

Nope, I have a blanket rule with Facebook

Prove yourself as racist, homophobic, sexist or just a downright idiot and you're gone

Downing a pint with 4 shots in it then 'Nominating' me to neck half a pint of vodka fits into the downright idiot category

The game seems to have moved on from a pint ??
