I am watching with my head in my hands and with a sick feeling. The 'team' are driving around a closed supermarket in small hot hatchbacks . The idea is for them to go round as quickly as possible

The amount of food that is wantonly destroyed is just sickening. There are families who have no food to eat today because of a variety of reasons and these idiots are finding it hilarious to drive over perfectly edible food for fun.

Surely there must be a better way to spend our TV license money than pay these old men and the programme makers who dream up this stuff.

I can't believe anyone would really have thought it was a real supermarket. They would never have agreed to that. Too much business would be lost when they could not open the next day due to the clean-up operation.

Also, it has to have been a staged thing, in a suitable building, perhaps with open doors and walls on one side. Car fumes could soon build up to dangerous levels otherwise.

finally watched it and course its a set up supermarket, if you look at shelves they only have one row of stuff on it - proper ones would have lots Grin

absolutely loved this, the racing of the cars, little hammie crashing his nova

I was once 'involved' in a Top Gear programme and all of the presenters were lovely. The finished product bore no resemblance to the filming and there were experts on site to make sure it was in no way dangerous.

Had I watched it without being there I would have been shouting at the TV.

Was that the hovercraft on the river episode?

I know someone involved with that one. Total set up. The diners at the restaurant were actors, etc.

I watched it today and loved it as I knew I would

All that '80's music and cars. Took me right back. I love Top Gear, always have.
