Well am I?

Someone said it was odd.

YABU for using the word 'gusset' when clearly, it is a 'crutch'.

MinesAPintOfTea · 02/02/2014 20:17

By the side, one to each peg and un the middle of the whirlygig. by the gusset would make the two sides flap together as I prefer the "shorts" style.

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:23

Don't you mean "crotch" candy?

OP posts:
candycoatedwaterdrops · 02/02/2014 20:33

No no no, we call it a 'crutch' in my family which got a bit confusing when I started using crutches.

Anniegetyourgun · 02/02/2014 20:37

A person has a crotch (or crutch), a garment has a gusset.

BettyMacdonald · 02/02/2014 20:39

I've always hung my not so smalls by the gusset. Watching moist gussets flapping in the breeze seems rather indelicate Wink

candycoatedwaterdrops · 02/02/2014 20:41

The word gusset makes me cringe, hence the change of terminology.

eurochick · 02/02/2014 20:41

That's completely illogical. The gusset (eugh) is the thickest bit. It's daft to peg there. It needs the breeze blowing through it.

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:42

Well quite Annie.

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:42

Illogical is as illogical does eurochick.

My MIL pegs her giant white knickers out on the line. I cringe when I see them. Her line crosses her massive garden and is highly visible from an adjoining lane. She has no shame.

VegetariansTasteLikeChicken · 02/02/2014 20:48

yabu, the gusset is the thickest park so needs to be exposed and not pegged.

It's science

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:49

But how does she peg them StopSquabbling?

Gusset, side or the two-peg approach?

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:50

Science Schmience.

Meh.

2 pegs each, 7 in a line every Monday. Great big white Sloggies. Next to them are 5 white gigantic bras.

We call it Big Pant Monday.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/02/2014 20:52

You hang them however you like, you know your pants hun.

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:56

Grin at Big Pant Monday!

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 20:57

"Hun?"

Hun??

OP posts:
ocelot41 · 02/02/2014 20:59

AIBU to assume that I have such deeply uninteresting underwear that no one will bother to scope it out on the line? If I was wearing pink leopardskin thongs on the other hand.... (Sighs) I used to be an interesting knicker-wearer....

ocelot41 · 02/02/2014 21:01

I am of the circular smalls peggie thing school of thought. Enough space to peg them all by the hip (natch) and swift to whip in when it rains....

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/02/2014 21:05

Muppet! it's a play on the 'you know your babs hun' Wink Grin

Salmotrutta · 02/02/2014 21:23

I know! Grin

OP posts:
AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/02/2014 21:33

Sorry, that was my hasty assurances that i'm not a real life hunner. Grin

EBearhug · 02/02/2014 21:42

This is how to hang laundry.

rabbitlady · 02/02/2014 21:43

the error is not in how you hang the underwear (though you should be hanging from the waist for a neat line) but in placing underwear outside at all. outdoor clothes dry outdoors; what is hidden when worn should remain hidden from all prying eyes.

the only time i deviated from this excellent policy was as a lovely, slim young married woman. my older, fatter neighbour would hang her ugly undies on her line where we could not help but see, so I took to putting out my beautiful sets of bras, french knickers and suspenders to annoy her. it did annoy her. and i still find that satisfying, despite now being an older, fatter woman myself. and i keep my (lovely but larger) underwear indoors!
