To wonder why Woody Allen was able to adopt two children?

With the historic knowledge he may have sexually abused his then 7 year year old step Daughter? this is a man who went to marry another step daughter of his. How was he able to adopt two further daughters who are mirror images of his wife and other step daughter. Has anyone read the open letter that the abused daughter wrote yesterday? why is Hollywood so silent on these matters?

TBH he gives me the creeps, having a relationship with your former step-daughter is just wrong on so many levels IMHO

He didn't marry his step daughter. He and Mia Farrow never married or even lived together. He married his ex's daughter. While not good, he was never a father figure to her.

Different laws seem to apply to the rich and famous. It's not fair.

I did notice the news pointed out that he has never been convicted for the offence. Innocent until proven guilty?

Because he is rich. No way, rightly, would ordinary people in those circumstances be able to adopt.

Because he's rich, famous and lives in the States.

Was he not living with Farrow, the mother of his children, and Previn when she was a minor? Or did he not live with them?

He and Mia never lived together, and he had little to do with his future wife until she was in her late teens. Its still not ok (he is much older than her), but it is not the type of scandal it is purported to be for the sake of sensationalism.

They married in 1997 and are still together now.

StarSwirl92 That article is biased because it was written by a man who produced and directed a documentary about Woody Allen. Woody Allen and his associates have a vested interest in protecting his reputation.

What reason does Dylan Farrow have to lie? She has to go through the humiliation of being disbelieved and denigrated while he is celebrated.

After the abuse allegations, Allen was denied visitation rights with his children and a prosecutor said that while there was enough evidence for the case to potentially stand up in court, he was dropping criminal proceedings due to Dylan's fragile state.

It's shocking that someone who lost visitation rights to his children due to abuse allegations was allowed to adopt again. I guess money talks.

Both Mia Farrow and Dylan's brother, have spoken up many times in her defence, saying they know it's true, and that's it an outrage how the movie industry has decided to ignore it, because it's easier and better for them to do so. And as Topaz points out, the only reason why he was never found guilty, is that Dylan was considered too fragile to cope with a court case. That does not make him innocent, even if he is technically legally innocent.

Normally to adopt, the guidelines are rightly so strict. You really think any ordinary person denied visitation rights to his own children, would be allowed to adopt?

Technically Soon-Yi was not his step daughter because he was not married to Mia Farrow so she was the daughter of his girlfriend. That article even goes on to say so "the adopted daughter of his former girlfriend Mia Farrow". Still wrong though.

A well written , sad but from the heart letter from Dylan Farrow. Woody Allen and Jimmy Saville seem to have quite a few things in common - money, power and liking for children often known as paedophilia.

The picture is of him with his daughter Bechet, taken a few years ago. Journalists regularly confuse the two, imo on purpose.
