karma Grin Grin hilarious.

CecilyP · 02/02/2014 13:44

I don't think the 9yo is a brat. She's 9 and behaving in a way most 9yo would want to...

I don't think it is the way most 9 year olds would behave. It is more the way an unsupervised toddler might behave. And if they can't be relied on not to climb on exhibits (regardless of the value) best either not to take them to an art gallery or keep them on reins.

GlitzAndGiggles · 02/02/2014 13:51

Oh god I went to school with the woman's nieces. Spoilt bitchy girls they were

bodygoingsouth · 02/02/2014 13:51

oh dear that has made me laugh.

anti establishment and going to private school! dreadful names for the brats too.

they all sound quite horrendous.

who valued the crap staircase? how stupid can people be?

Groovee · 02/02/2014 13:52

Gawd, They sound like eejits! The Aunt sounds just as rude.

BeckAndCall · 02/02/2014 13:55

The child is not even close to anti establishment - that would require a conscious analysis of what the art meant and its location followed by a positive decision to challenge those assumptions.

She just bloody climbed on the thing because it was there.

Which she shouldn't be doing at 9 years old. Especially as she is apparently used to all of the best museums and galleries in the world..

RunRunRuby · 02/02/2014 14:00

Wow. I've been to plenty of art galleries, with my parents and with school, from the age of about 5 upwards. I was a fairly active child and would happily climb trees and all sorts but I've never so much as touched an art exhibit (apart from interactive ones!) Hmm it's not normal behaviour for a 9 year old, I'm sure most would know that art is special and not for playing with or climbing on! More importantly, if you know that that is normal behaviour for your 9 year old then it is your responsibility to either not take them to galleries or to prevent them from misbehaving.

bodygoingsouth · 02/02/2014 14:03

bet parents evening is fun for the teachers though?

limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2014 14:29

Nine years old is beyond the cut-off point for behaviour that might make a fun anecdote in a best man's speech and well into fucking pest territory.

And as for her cunty aunt and cunty parents...

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 02/02/2014 14:35

How Kait must have FUMMED when the Beckhams named their little Harper Grin

limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2014 14:50

I noticed that bruno. Do you think she'll make her change her name?

Someone on recent name thread said that in her opinion, Kaitlin was the wrong spelling of the name Caitlin, and so Kait rather than Cait would be wrong.

It was in the spirit of helpfulness rather than bitchiness. I went along with that on that thread but possibly not on this one Wink

The same thread taught me that Sissi is a diminutive of Elizabeth. I didn't know, but you live and learn, don't you?

If only it was as easy to learn how to behave in public spaces, which my cripplingly conformist parents taught me.

MadAriadne · 03/02/2014 12:11

Come on everyone, Sissi is cute and clever. She can climb on whatever she likes!

kungfupannda · 03/02/2014 12:25

The parents sound like pains in the arse. I can't say I understand 10million for a row of shelves, but it's in a gallery, so you don't climb on it!

Although having said that,I must admit to having sat on an exhibit at the Saatchi gallery. In my defence, I was hungover and waiting for a friend to catch me up, and said exhibit was an incredibly lifelike looking old man sitting on a bench. So I sat next to him, and was somewhat surprised when someone took my photo.

I wonder what the other parents at the school think of the whole 'cutest and most intelligent' comment....
