Love how wanky people like this always have suitably wanky names for their kids. Grin

Sissi Belle indeed.

Oh and while 2yo wasn't to blame, but should have been stopped, child in the op is NINE and (so the parents boast) bright and clever. She absolutely should know you don't touch art, however attracted to it you are.

miaowmix · 01/02/2014 20:16

tres amusante.
I do love the children's names though.

Casmama · 01/02/2014 20:18

I think the worst offender is a tally the aunt who had the gall to tell the staff member how it was none of her business!
What a cheeky cow.

Casmama · 01/02/2014 20:18

A tally - actually

ISBN1966 · 01/02/2014 20:21

I have a 10 year old and an 8 year old. If they'd even stretched a tentative finger out to gently prod a work of art in a gallery I would have been on them like a hurricane. Just, NO! NO! NO! Stop bloody touching!

Our children are not horrible, they are the most cute and intelligent girls at the top of their class in school"

What? So if a child is cute (according to the parents) and/or intelligent (according to the parents) they can't be horrible?

Really? Hmm

QueenQuinine · 01/02/2014 20:25

"I think that Tate should operate the same policy as most shops. Touch it or break it, and you pay for it."

Do you shop exclusively in holiday-tat-ornament shops, TheDrugsWorkABitTooWellThanks?

beluga425 · 01/02/2014 20:27

Right, who's for taking the kids on a trip to All Saints for a spot of anti-establishment climbing on the shop window displays?

QueenQuinine · 01/02/2014 20:29

Is that AllSaints, the shop and brand they sold nine years ago, cupofcake? Or a different one?

DumSpiroSpero · 01/02/2014 20:31

What a pair of prats.

My 9yo DD hears me ranting at the news a lot is quite politically aware and loves art.

She also knows how to behave and respect the work of others.

They sound like irritating posh people, but really, if people want something to complain about, how about it being that a country supposedly in economic crisis and unable to feed the poor/sick has £10m to spend on tat from IKEA to stick in an art gallery? It seems like climbing on it is probably the only potential use.

frugalfuzzpig · 01/02/2014 20:33

DD tried pointing at a portrait once as she was wanting to point something out so I grabbed her hand just in case she got too close. And explained why you don't touch.

You know, rather than saying yes sweetie aren't you clever being all rebellious hahaha Hmm

BRILLIANT :o

It'll be like a sit-in protest... but messier

They don't own all saints any more though. Great idea apart from that.

takingthathometomomma · 01/02/2014 20:39

Urgh. They have successfully raised a brat.

WillieWaggledagger · 01/02/2014 20:40

they should go to the architecture exhibition currently on at the RA where you are encouraged to interact with exhibits

QueenThora · 01/02/2014 20:43

Yes I went to an exhibition we 3yo DD yesterday - as soon as she was a few feet away from me she went up and touched a picture (luckily behind glass) because she wanted to show me something, I immediately sprinted over going "NO NO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH IT!" That's how they learn surely.

Oh but parents like these are probably the type who ban the word "no" from their household (I'm not exaggerating, I know parents like that)

TheHouseCleaner · 01/02/2014 20:43

Prats with brats. How endearing.

QueenThora · 01/02/2014 20:44

we? with

imip · 01/02/2014 20:44

The son isn't in private school. It is a state school close to us. I am surprised they used that photo as the uniform is recognisable.

IndridCold · 01/02/2014 20:44

I'd love to be on that school run on MondayGrin.
