I saw this in a supermarket yesterday -- a toddler spat out his dummy on the floor, dad picked it up, LICKED it, and gave it back to the child. Shock

I chewed meat for ds many moons again, seemed the natural thing to do

RandyRudolf · 01/02/2014 18:02

Yes, this is normal but still makes me feel sick if I think about it. It's the thought of what is on the floor that you're licking off thank god for strong immune systems and stomachs!

Only1scoop · 01/02/2014 18:04

Tbh I used to suck it when he was a baby.
but now he's a toddler I wouldn't bother.. he shares stuff with the dog on a daily basis anyway Grin

IndigoTea · 01/02/2014 18:05

Yes normal

IndigoTea · 01/02/2014 18:05

As an after thought, gosh not from a supermarket floor

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/02/2014 18:07

yes , unfortunately normal
But I hate dummies with a passion especially when a child is walking and talking with a huge dummy in their mouth

Topseyt · 01/02/2014 18:14

Totally normal. I did it a number of times and my children and I have all survived.

That said, mine didn't want dummies for very long, and my eldest preferred other children's dummies to one of her own anyway. I couldn't let go of her when out and about, or she would go up to another baby, pinch their dummy and go off sucking it herself leaving said baby screaming and me having to apologise profusely to the other parent. Blush

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKahleesi · 01/02/2014 18:16

I haven't done it to a dummy but I have sucked thumbs that tasted 'yucky' so they could pop them back in their mouths Grin

Only1scoop · 01/02/2014 18:19

So why would anyone do this? Do they think they would be removing the floor germs? I just don't get it....

Pixiedust49 · 01/02/2014 18:21

Isn't there a stand up comedy routine talking about this? Can't remember which comedian will have to google now......

doodahwhatsit · 01/02/2014 18:27
