To write a letter of complaint about a Gucci bracelet??

My DH bought me a £260 Gucci bracelet for my 30th, I don't have many indulgences but it was a special birthday and 2 weeks after DS had been born so he treated me. So last week comes and it's my first chance to wear it as I'm being taken out for a meal.

An hour into our meal I have re-tighten the bracelet 3x, I decide before I have any more vino I need to take it off otherwise it's going to fall off and get lost. So I put it in the side pocket of my handbag.

Today I got the chance to get to Beaverbrooks to exchange it, and told by the assistant that it's the bracelets design and there is nothing faulty about mine. I say when in that case this bracelet isn't suited to me and could I exchange for another. He went off and spoke to the manager and came back saying he couldn't do that as it has been "heavily worn". He inspected it though his little eye magnifier and said he could see a scratch and a bit of fluff from some clothing. I told him about the night it had been worn n he kept banging on about being "heavily" worn, I said it hadn't been but he said he would have to disagree Angry

I am now home with my glasses and can not see a scratch, whatever fluff he has seen must of come off too.

I'm fuming, WWYD??

I would go to another branch of beaverbrooks and exchange it, not mentioning the fact that it has been worn, just say it's a gift but not to your taste etc. It can't have any wear and tear after such a short time being worn.

Yes I agree with MrsRoger

I think the best solution would be to give it to me. Husband sounds like a keeper!

I think attempting an exchange at a different branch might be the easiest.

Ok I'm gonna write an email to Beaverbrooks HO tonight then have another go at a store then.

Don't send the letter until you have exchanged it! They might put your picture out to all stores... Like a mugshot Grin

Good luck :)

The branch I went into today won't send an email round to other branches will they with my "story" never worked in retail

They won't but I'd try exchange first and if that doesn't work, then send the email! Pointless sending the mail if the other branch exchanges it no problem!
