Ds,s first Broken Heart

Ds has come home from school today and burst into tears saying that xxx has dumped him and that his heart hurts, and he didn't want to talk about it any further. They were bf and gf for months.
Aibu that they were too young anyway to understand realatiobships and his is better off concentrating at school instead. Obviously it isn't nice to have your heart hurting and I told him that I love him and will be here when he wants to talk more.

Depends how old he is... teenagers think they know all there is to know, younger kids not so much..

YANBU to think that. It would be unreasonable to say it.

Ds is 11 and so is the girl. At his school all of his class are paired up as bf and gf and some of them have rows with each other walking home about them dumping each other.
They seem to take it pretty seriously. I have said to him that he should take it as friendship nothing serious at his age.

ahhh 11... dont worry, he will be with another in no time at all! probably her best friend... its all good fun at that age! lol!!

Aw well I expect he is genuinely upset. My dd is always getting really upset over rows with friends. Give him his favourite dinner and a big hug from his old mum.
