She is two. I work ft and today is one of my days off.

All I need to do is go to the Post Office.

It is tipping it down. It is windy. I am feeling incredibly lazy.

AIBU to just slob out at home all day (rxcept for a walk to the PO?)

no way!! enjoy, i love a wee lazy day now and again.

I've done that the past two days with my two year old although she has been playing in the garden so I don't feel too bad :)

We've got a 3 week old too so I'm just plucking up the courage to take them both for an outing today. DH's first week back at work so haven't had them both out by myself yet....

They don't get bored all that easily - some poster paints and an egg box kept DD going for ages yesterday. And a sticker book :)

Make sure she has some paints or stickers or colouring in to do and enjoy! You could always do some baking or play some games together :)

There is a wonderful "Alfie" story by Shirley Hughes where they stay at grandma's and mummy's working and the weather's crap so they adventure round the house, under the dining table, up the stairs, across the beds etc rather than go out. A perfect model for the weather this week.

I want to do the same. I ought to be going out this afternoon to see a group of friends, but I'm considering wimping out.
Rain + more disrupted sleep than usual has done noting good for my motivation.

Sounds lovely! You could do lots of rainy day activities - bake some cupcakes, potato printing, eatch a kids film together.

Lazy days are the best!

Geberally my days off are spent half doing something for her (toddlers, swim etc) and after nap doing practical things like food shopping.

Dd is always asking to "have a little play in the house" so today we are going to play the hell out of her little kitchen, her jigsaws and her dressy ups. For the time being we are watching Wall-E with a brew (mines real her is imaginary!)

Ds had a duvet day yesterday - he is in nursery and fighting another cold. I knew I needed to work today so we chilled out (although still had the obligatory school run). We tidied his bedroom, cleaned the conservatory, played some board games, did some reading, watched Madagascar 3. I wouldn't have kept him off school but at that age a lazy day is nice once in a while.

Despite the standard rules about fresh air and outdoor exercise, and there being no such thing as impossible weather, just unsuitable clothing, blah blah, there are days when going out isn't actually fun. And large chunks of today look like they're going to be that sort. Strong wind with sleet mixed into it isn't fun under any circumstances.

Build a tunnel out of the sofa, hours of fun!

Me and DD(2) are currently snuggled on the sofa watching tarzan while DS(7months) sleeps.
We have plans to go on a bear hunt around the house when the baby wakes up

Yanbu. Bung all cushions in a big pile with a duvet on top to make a fort and watch Disney from it.

We have had several indoor days recently in NYC, owing to absolutely frigid temperatures and blowing gales. I'm usually a stickler for daily exercise and fresh air, but there comes a point when being outside is painful, and it's far preferable to do some water play, puzzles and watch old episodes of Paddington Bear in bed.

Ok,.nap time for both of us!! Thanks for easing my guilt.
