AIBU to ask what embarrassing nicknames you give to your DHs??

My stbDH has confessed he doesn't like his nickname! In fairness, I call him loads of slightly embarrassing nicknames (from the acceptable, like sweetie, through to the questionable sanity, like pookie and schnookums if I'm that way out). But I normally call him one nickname when I'm feeling a bit soppy. His real name starts with a vowel, so if his name was Ian, I call him mIan - it's come about as a contracted form of "my Ian" (he's not called Ian). I think it's sorta sweet!

His thoughts are it sounds like I wanted to give him a nickname but couldn't be bothered to come up with a proper one so just used a sloppy form of his name.

What about you? Embarrassing nicknames??

yup we call my eldest Bessie as thats how my youngest use to say her name! she hates it, I love it!

MrsMangoBiscuit · 28/01/2014 18:28

After the thread about it on here, and Micky Flanagan's casual cunting sketch, I call him "cunty chops", or just "chops" if DD1 is around. Grin

Musicaltheatremum · 28/01/2014 18:28

I called my husband "snooze" because he was very snoozy in the morning. He called me the same. Over the years it became "nooze" daft isn't it. He died 2 years ago so I miss this.

MollyHooper · 28/01/2014 18:34

Arse and arse variants. Arse head, arse face, big arse, monkey arse.

Sounds horrible when I write it down! :o

I also call him darlin' which is probably worse.

KatieScarlett2833 · 28/01/2014 18:38

Bawjaws
Daisy
Sweetie

None of these are even remotely good. I need a new one.

My mum and dad both call each other 'dids', 'weets' or'potts'. The joke is they have to be the same, so nearly all the cards they have ever exchanged say 'to Dids, from Dids' or 'To Weets, from Weets' etc.

MadameJosephine · 28/01/2014 18:46

Sausage Blush

If we are in public I have to force myself to use his actual name and it always feels odd because I'm used to calling him sausage all the time. Poor DD will probably grow up thinking that's get dad's name

MadameJosephine · 28/01/2014 18:47

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 28/01/2014 18:53

Fuck face, god know why or when I started calling DH that.

wyldchyld · 28/01/2014 18:53

So AIBU to say that mIan is not a bad nickname?! And DH is being overly sensitive and a big schnookums...

DachsandPup · 28/01/2014 19:18

He's Bearykin because he loves bears, especially polar bears. I'm little rabbit. Never ever ever call each other that if anyone may be even vaguely able to hear us! Otherwise I'm usually sweetie pie and he's sweetie nose. I also call him monkey boy sometimes but i have absolutely no recollection of where that one came from!

Scraps, because he'll finish what I don't eat.
Or most of the time, lover or luverrrrr.

LittleWhiteWolf · 28/01/2014 19:33

Normally I call him by some variant of a swear word. Because I'm nice.
But we also refer to each other as Hippos. I can't quite remember where it came from but we were having a very giggly and silly time and that's when we started calling each other Hippo. I can't explain or defend it.
