... the friend of someone on here who was pregnant by her American fling, who was planning to give birth in the fling's military hospital (I think she secretly married him) and could see no problem at all with this scenario?

Granted, my American MIL thinks that giving birth in an NHS hospital "only" attended by a team of midwives is akin to birthing under a hedge, but it seemed unlikely in the OP's scenario that the motivations on the US side were entirely altruistic...

Anyone remember this, or if there was an update?

I remember but by the time I started reading it was up to a million posts. . ( I exaggerate) would be interested in update too

If I have the right one the baby has been born and she was due to come back this month with the baby. Other than that, no idea.

She had a little boy and was still in the US with the h and mil being quite controlling, no update for a while though so hoping the next one will be that they've managed to get home.
