I used to have a bushy bush. It's now looking decidedly balding. There's a big bald patch in the middle.

Is this normal as one gets older?

I don't know but I know a lot of the elderly ladies on the wards I used to work with were hairless down there and I don't think they were whipping out the razor/wax kit.

Is is a perfectly round patch? Have you noticed any other hair loss? Like this but not on the head?

Yes. I'm 39 and not only am I greying rapidly down below but it falls out rapidly too. My mum has told me (eww) that she went grey then bald

It's fairly round but difficult to tell as all the hair is pretty thin.

Armpits are shaved so no idea about them and legs don't have a great deal of hair so can't tell if any is missing.

Have your thyroid checked. This could be an indicator of an under active thyroid.

Constant friction?! Not much of that going on.

Err I've lost a fair bit of weight, but I have a 5mo. I'm probably lighter than I was pre-pregnancy.

Hair loss is common after pregnancy. Assuming that applies all over and not just the head!

Liking this ageing thing, no periods and no fanjo hair grooming :).

Not that I would notice because I like to be bald down there any way.

Can I just share this with you - its actually about posture but involves naked bodies. I have to say, waxing is not a good look. Neither is that Brazilian.

And I agree, the baldies & brazilians didn't look all that (a bit contrived, iyswim?). But having said that, I didn't think the full-on 70s bush was very flattering either.

Hair on my head is falling out a lot and has been since DD was about 8 weeks. Although it is thinner there are no patches I've noticed.

I'm 48 and mine is certainly more patchy but longer, what's that all about? The hair that used to be in the sparser patches has migrated down to the back of my thighs which now have long dark hairs. Very odd, my Mother never warned me about this.

I lost most of mine at age 30.

I do have an under active thyroid though. Even though it is now well managed I still have bald patches.

It's really quite quirky as I don't trim or anything so it resembles a bald mans head with a long beard.

You could always fill the circular patch with a little vajazzle and then gradually expand the pattern if and when the bald patch gets bigger.

That's my beauty tip for today.

its quite common for thyroid to go wonky after a baby. Might be worth getting that checked?

I've got the opposite problem - fanjo hair spreading down my legs. I swear to god it'll be down to my knees soon, but at least i will have nice warm thighs.

You could plait it? Or donate some to less fortunate individuals? I wonder if there'd be a market for fanjo wigs.
