nope! Keeps my rhythm

DrNick · 19/01/2014 11:30

do they not hurt?

Why would it hurt? It's hair! It just swishes from side to side!

BradleyCoopersCurlyPerm · 19/01/2014 12:22

No! I have long thick hair. If I have it in a bun it feels really heavy when I run. If I braid it then it whips me in the back. A ponytail is perfect as it just kind of swings from side to side.

Sallyingforth · 19/01/2014 12:27

I have a really long swooshy pony tail and it's no problem when running because I don't! but its a real nuisance when swimming

Dahlen · 19/01/2014 12:34

I have a long swishy ponytail. The only time it annoys me is post run when I have to wash (or rather dry) it.

Cookethenook · 19/01/2014 12:45

Hahaha, i wonder this too!
If i have even 1 strand of hair around my face or neck when i'm running it drives me insane. I have to have a tight bun (long, thick hair with a fringe) atop my head, fringe twisted back and head band so there is no chance any hairs can escape. I look like a total wally and i desperately wish i could have a lovely ponytail.

CooEeeEldridge · 19/01/2014 12:45

Ha same as dahlen, doesn't do anything but swish behind me. Bloody hate the washing / drying though. Being the owner of a massive moon head / face means I have to keep it long annoyingly.

Off out to swish it now!

Chottie · 19/01/2014 12:56

Swooning with envy at all those lovely swooshy pony tails. I would love one! :)

Mrsmorton · 19/01/2014 14:38

I remember reading a scientific paper based around why the pony tail "fibre bundle" goes from side to side rather than up and down. Someone got funding for that Confused

17leftfeet · 19/01/2014 14:43

Buns are really heavy and uncomfortable

Swishy ponytails are great -I know if I'm slowing down

Blatherskite · 19/01/2014 14:54

I got fed up of my long swishy ponytail and had it chopped off. Now I have the opposite problem in that sometimes it's too short and bits escape from the hair bobble and annoy me while I'm running. You can't win.

LaFataTurchina · 19/01/2014 16:11

Haha I remember when I was a teenager and did gymnastics this was a really frequent topic of conversation between me and the other girls - what hairstyle is least annoying.
We finally came to the conclusion that 2 low bunchies at the side of your head are the best hairstyle for doing exercise in. We needed to lie down/roll over though.
