In my case, it is earrings and scent, but a friend says it has to be quality underwear in case she is run over by a bus!?? (so no Bridget Jones pants!); another needs her high heels.

So I was just wondering, what is your 'can't live without' item?

A bra - feel naked without one.

Only wear make up on nights out etc.

Bettercallsaul1 · 18/01/2014 18:08

Always put on perfume before going out. Also, to feel really confident, high heels - I 'm of average height and it's amazing what a difference those couple more inches in height make!

quirrelquarrel · 18/01/2014 18:18

Have to say I don't think I have anything like that. I do kind of prefer having all my earrings in, I spose, does that count? And if the top is a coat with pockets I can put my hands in that's good too.....

Binkyridesagain · 18/01/2014 18:21

deodorant, trousers, top and shoes.

Sirzy · 18/01/2014 18:23

My glasses - I tried contacts once and the reflection in the mirror just wasn't me.

A watch. Even though I generally use my phone to check the time I still have to wear one

MrsLettuce · 18/01/2014 18:26

Bra and red lippy.

Whatever clothes too, natch. But, without bra and lippy I'm sunk.

PaulSmenis · 18/01/2014 18:31

Tinted moisturiser, blusher, lippy, eye shadow, mascara. Nice bag, Weleda deodorant and perfume. Appropriate shoes for occasion.

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 18/01/2014 18:36

I was going to say: shoes. Any shoes. Without footwear I don't feel ready, can't fight the world in socks!

But now I feel more is required?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/01/2014 18:54

I would gladly never wear shoes again if a) everywhere was clean and b) my feet didn't get cold. I hate them.

Bettercallsaul1 · 18/01/2014 19:00

Sirzy - I am exactly the opposite! I have worn contacts since I was thirteen and I would never go out wearing glasses - I would prefer to stay in! Ah, vanity ....

Back2Basics · 18/01/2014 19:03

Foundation.

I don't even have bad skin! But I would walk down the road inmy string bikini (if I had one) before no foundation.

lookingfoxy · 18/01/2014 19:07

Eye make up and hair straightened.

WeddingComingUp · 18/01/2014 19:09

For everyday mooching around with the kids, clean hair and concealer.

For work, clean hair, concealer, blusher and mascara.

WeddingComingUp · 18/01/2014 19:11

Oh, and contact lenses (poster below reminded me).

My prescription is -11.25. In glasses my eyes look like piss holes in the snow tiny, and even paying a fortune for glass thinning, the glass is about an inch thick!

Like a pp, I would rather stay in than wear glasses.

hugoagogo · 18/01/2014 19:15

bare minimum-

concealer, glasses, watch, underwear, trousers and top, shoes and socks, + a cardigan/jumper/jacket even if it is 35 degrees!

nooka · 18/01/2014 19:18

For general life, just clothes suitable for the weather. I used to feel the need for presenting/interviewing clothes, to get into role but much less so now.

I can't live without my glasses, but I need them on at all times except when I am sleeping (otherwise they only come off for the shower, and if I could wear them in the shower I would).

LegoStillSavesMyLife · 18/01/2014 19:22

Clean underwear, clothes, hair and teeth brushed, face washed. That's it then I'm out the door.

Never felt motivated to get up 10minutes earlier to put makeup on.

AntiJamDidi · 18/01/2014 19:22

Glasses. Apparently I have a really unattractive squint when I try to see anything without them.

A decent bra. I'm rather large of nork so that's essential.

LegoStillSavesMyLife · 18/01/2014 19:23

Obviouslu glasses as well, but then I don't get out of bed without those.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/01/2014 19:25

Contact lenses - glasses are something I only wear to get to the bathroom and put my lenses in unless I've overslept or am going swimming.

Eyebrow pencil - mine are dark and gappy

Earrings, watch and some sort of necklace, normally a small silver pendant and chain.

MmeGuillotine · 18/01/2014 19:25

Perfume, eyebrows (I'm a naturally redheaded over plucker with goth tendencies so this is VERY important), mascara, red lipstick, straightened hair, big boots.

LittleBabySqueakSqueak · 18/01/2014 19:29

WeddingComingUp - I'd highly, highly recommend looking into implantable contact lenses. They're eye-wateringly expensive, but changed my life. I was about -13.

teenagetantrums · 18/01/2014 19:29

another one that says a bra.

Hair brushed and teeth cleaned, i gave up make up years ago.

WhizzFucker · 18/01/2014 19:29

CHJR that is hilarious that no-one batted an eyelid or even remembers!

42andcounting · 18/01/2014 19:39

Shower, clean teeth, bra & knickers, clothes without too much baby sick on them. At a push I could forego the shower if I was only going to the corner shop or similar.

My standards have dropped a lot since DD was born....
