To Have Sent The Cats To Bed Without Their Tea

sadiekillmouski · 18/01/2014 03:49

One of the hairy buggers has vomited copiously on my good suede boots...without a DNA test I am unable to determine which of the three is the culprit, therefore they have all been packed off to bed without the even a smidge of a goody. AIBU?

Yes. Even the one who did won't understand why you're being horrible. Go and feed them.

sadiekillmouski · 18/01/2014 03:56

They have crunchies available...just no yummy kitty pate for them...:)

YANBU....little bugger whoever it was.Grin

AbbeyBartlet · 18/01/2014 08:49

YABvvvvvU - I'm sure they only did it because they felt you deserved it - give them the pate! Grin

AwfulMaureen · 18/01/2014 08:50

YANBU mine does this when he's inhaled his pate so fast it just shoots back out again. Envy

RandomMess · 18/01/2014 09:00

YABU - as staff you should know not to leave any precious items laying in their way.

My sueude boots did eventually clean up!

AwfulMaureen · 18/01/2014 09:43

My cat threw up right by my open laptop....I took it as a warning.

saintmerryweather · 18/01/2014 09:49

Nope yanbu - quite apart from your boots being ruined if our dogs are sick they get fasted

AbbeyBartlet · 18/01/2014 09:50

Awful Grin Very wise!

Slightly off topic but every time I see a cat in a 'funny' costume, I always think 'Yes it's all laughs now - wait til he shits in your shoes later'!

Theodorous · 18/01/2014 10:12

Just found a gekko tail in the bed and then realised food bowl was empty. You have been warned

Bettercallsaul1 · 18/01/2014 10:27

YABVU! "Group" punishment is wrong - see all the school threads! - and against the cats' feline rights!

Only one naughty moggie is responsible for this heinous behaviour!

patienceisvirtuous · 18/01/2014 10:29

YABU to 'punish' an animal.

Megrim · 18/01/2014 10:56

At least s/he didn't throw up in your handbag.

YANBU to cut out the slop for the night and put them on hard rations.

Topaz25 · 18/01/2014 10:58

YANBU if you're skipping a meal to settle their stomachs.

YABU if you're doing it to 'punish' them. Firstly because vomiting is involuntary and secondly because animals only associate an action with an immediate reaction, like being scolded or praised straight away. They won't understand that you didn't give them dinner because of something that happened earlier.

MrsBennetsEldest · 18/01/2014 11:02

You know they will punish you a million times over......

CassCade · 18/01/2014 11:22

Just reminded me of yesterday morning: Caught cat1 pooing in the middle of the floor - walked in while he was in the guilty act - with a clean litter tray right next to him - while cat2 looked on from his bed. I screamed (involuntary reaction) and scooped him up, mid-crap, opened the back door and threw him straight out onto the grass in one smooth (almost Sherlockian) move. Cat2 in the bed didn't bat an eyelid. Shitting cat1 tore across the garden in terror. Think they knew what was what.

Bettercallsaul1 · 18/01/2014 11:36

CassCade - that is hilarious! I can just picture it.

CassCade · 18/01/2014 11:42

Thanks, bettercallsaul1 ! It wasn't at that moment, but it was writing about it! Bad cat.

ForalltheSaints · 18/01/2014 16:42

You have forgotten that you can own a dog, but a cat owns you.

sadiekillmouski · 18/01/2014 16:49

No, I was not punishing the poor wee beasties. Just wanted to see if they had been piggy or if there was illness involved. Rest assured that all three have been given their daily ration of kitty pate and are now snoozing in a great furry pile on my bed. God's in his heaven, all's right with the world. :)

JenBehavingBadly · 18/01/2014 16:51

Won't somebody think of the kittens!

Bettercallsaul1 · 18/01/2014 18:20

sadiekillmouski (great name, by the way!)

That is a very cute picture you paint of your cats "snoozing in a great furry pile" on your bed! I can just imagine the large, purring bundle!

MyCatHasStaff · 18/01/2014 18:25

They'll have sent their entry to you realise.

teenagetantrums · 18/01/2014 18:29

YANBU, but can you send their tea over to me, i have forgotten buy cat food and poor cats are driving me mad, you would think their bowl had been empty for 2 weeks not 2 hours.

RussianBlu · 18/01/2014 18:58

I think you are being entirely reasonable. My cat has just climbed onto me as I try to type this as if to deter me.
