I realise it's FB and therefore a silly problem but.

Jeremy Fuckface Clarkson posted a vile picture to his twitter today of his equally hateful Top Gear colleagues holding a sign saying 'Gay cunt' next to his ugly sleeping mush .

He promptly deleted the photo.

A relatively new FB friend (fellow mum on school run) has just shared it. With a smiley face.

I am livid and tempted to comment. The use of gay as a pejorative term is one of my major bugbears and is, imo, completely unacceptable.

She has form for making me . She referred to a little mixed race boy in our DDs class as a 'half boy' in a conversation we had and I was too to even process let alone challenge what she said.

I have to see her every day. She seemed like a nice person.

Well, BunnyLebowski ("I'll suck your cock for a 1000 dollars") has done absolutely the right thing as instructed so there will be no more stupid/sexist/racist/homophopic updates on FB, thank God. Actually, I have never seen any of this crap, maybe I should update my friend list.

Was that aimed at me? I do think it is offensive, I just think if someone (perhaps cluelessly rather than cruelly) uses offensive or outdated language it might be more mature to explain it to them rather than call them out or cut them out. After all, how else can we expect to effect change?

OT but I really think these threads would be easier to follow if we could reply to specific posters, like on other message boards.

Given that she appears to have sloped off with her tail between her legs, can we assume she can't find any examples because there are none, and that in fact I have never at any point in this thread suggested it's okay to use the word 'gay' as an insult?

And can I therefore expect an apology from her for making such a dreadfully damaging and utterly false allegation?

There was no intention to insult him. The idea was to shock and amuse him and it worked.
