To think that period pain shouldn't increase after giving birth?

Hi

It's been 7 months since I have birth and period returned at 4 months. They've been so painful, especially the huge pressure and pain on my vagina, like the pain following birth and stitches. I had a 2nd degree tear which I'm told did heal up, so why is it hurting so much? Hmm

Also, the SPD type pain (around hip and legs) has returned too during period time. Am I just over over tired (very likely as LO is up every hour at night) or should I see the GP?

I still have SPD and my youngest is three years. It can be normal for it to come back with hormonal changes in the body.

Mine got worse, same for quite a few women I know. It sucks. Neurofen helps me and a healthy diet, mines always worse if I've been eating crap.

Only you can judge your level of pain, so it's difficult to say, you may have had "easy periods" and your body is just recovering.

However my Niece had severe pain at this stage and it turned out to be partialy retained placenta.

I think that you should go to the GP to get checked. You can develop fibroids etc after birth.

My periods got worse after having children and I still get SPD type pains almost 9 years later. My pelvis is FUBAR. Sorry. Hope yours get better though. See your GP if you're concerned, definitely.

hi op, sorry but I sailed through my periods pre and post 4 dcs.

was a bit ' oh what's allergy bloody fuss about' until the peri menopausal floods and unbelievable pain hit. what a wake up call to smugness.

however don't put up with pain.. go see GP. there is help out there.
