Seriously though calling in two police forces is pathetic and money wasting to look for two 16 year old kids who have committed no crime and are safe. This is a matter for the school and the parents as to how they are punished.

Until they are found, no-one can be sure they're safe. Up to that point, they are missing teens and of course they should be looked for.

The jokey comparisons (the one I saw was to Alcatraz) came from their teen peers, after likely location had been discovered and fears for their safety had receded.

The school was in loco parentis and allowed the minors to escape. They are both vulnerable and the lad in particular, reading between the lines, seems to have a pretty sad set up in the context of his family.

I'm as old as the hills and I hope things have changed a lot since I was 16 but way back then everyone knew how screwed up the Stoneyhurst boys were after years at that institution. They'd have escaped within nano seconds if they'd had the means.
