Australia 2015/16

I am considering going to Australia in 2015/16 for 3 weeks to stay with friends that moved out there.

My only issue with this is my DD will be 4 or 5 depending on when we go. Is it fair to take her on such a long flight?

We went all the way over and back with no stopovers. We had no more than 2 hours in each airport, Schipol and KL, both ways. DH & DD1 are not usually great travellers but we all agreed the travelling was not nearly as bad as we expected, in fact it all went well. We used Malaysian airlines and they have on demand tellies, mentioned up thread at each seat too.

Stopovers can be great fun - Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and the UAE all are brilliant stops for a 22 hour adventure. Whoever you choose (Emirates, CathayCathay, Virgin Atlantic, Qantas and Etihad are all good, and Etihad have an in flight nanny) go with the most direct route - time on the plane is pretty easy with kids but it's adding a 3 hour delay to change flights in a crowded airport when you are sleep depped that can turn the whole thing hellish.

Have a wonderful time in Perth and try and fit in an overnight on Rottnest Island, it's utterly gorgeous.
