My Aunt wants to organise a cake for my parents with one of those "iced photo" on top.

But it would be a picture of my lovely parents on their wedding day ....being sliced in half ...then quarter ,,and so !!

2 gold rings on white icing is enough isn't it !!!

got a thing about ripping up/throwing out old photos

What?

Berryglitter · 14/01/2014 23:03

My son's first birthday cake was an iced photo one. It was delicious and beautiful.

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKaleesi · 14/01/2014 23:03

What's wrong with cutting up the picture if it's icing? It's not the actual photo that will be getting eaten, though that would be funnier to watch the guests eating Grin

ExitPursuedByABear · 14/01/2014 23:05

It will be fine.

sooperdooper · 14/01/2014 23:06

Don't be silly

Alisvolatpropiis · 14/01/2014 23:06

Well, it won't be the actual photo, it'll be transfer. Actual photo will be safe and well OP Grin

Juno77 · 14/01/2014 23:06

WhatAPallava · 14/01/2014 23:07

Yabu. It's only a pretend photo.

BarkisIsWillin · 14/01/2014 23:09

ExitPursuedByABear · 14/01/2014 23:10

Gosh Barkis. Is that you?

ExitPursuedByABear · 14/01/2014 23:11

Oops. No.

ddubsgirl · 14/01/2014 23:14

the real pic isnt used its just an iced copy

bizzey · 14/01/2014 23:18

Thanks for the replies.
Yes I know I might seem a bit silly but 2 and 1/2 years ago dad was very ill and we did not know if we would even see this day.

To cut through a picture of them seems like ...well I don't know ...tempting fate ?

(BTW sorry thought I was in chat !!!)

Juno77 · 14/01/2014 23:19

Still weird. It's just a picture.

Annunziata · 14/01/2014 23:21

I am as superstitious as you get and even I would be fine with this.

Berryglitter · 14/01/2014 23:22

It's sugar, on a cake, you eat it. Unless I screwed up and have cursed my child by eating his birthday cake?

IglooisnowinSheffield · 14/01/2014 23:28

I always feel funny about eating the caterpillars on the kids cakes in case they wriggle on the way down. Oh wait, no I don't it's just sugar Grin

theliverpoolone · 14/01/2014 23:32

My parents' cake at their 50th anniversary party had their wedding photo on. It looked ( and tasted!) lovely.

AnotherWorld · 14/01/2014 23:35

YANBU OP

Would be odd for me too

bizzey · 14/01/2014 23:40

Bootycall · 14/01/2014 23:42

no agree its odd and I wouldn't like it either. totally superstitious me.

Shnickyshnackers · 14/01/2014 23:45

Yes, just have gold rings on the cake and a lovely photo of them both on a stand behind the cake.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 14/01/2014 23:46

I have actually thought this before, you have a picture on a cake, then you stick and bloody great knife through their faces and across their heads, chop off ears and generally just slice them up off to find picture of MIL Wink

HollaAtMeBaby · 15/01/2014 00:16

I wouldn't like this either! Can you get the photo printed on a separate sheet of icing, stick it on top of the cake and peel it off before you cut?

bizzey · 15/01/2014 00:27

Holla I could ..but then I have (still) got to eat them !! still could not do it to Ex mil !!
