to not throw jam around?

My toddler was "helping" spread jam on toast for brekkie. Unsurprisingly there was quite a bit of jam on floor/unit etc which I wiped up. Cue massive strop from toddler who was apparently traumatised that he had not been allowed to clean it. "Me do it!!". DH then tells me I am being mean in not re-smearing jam on various surfaces so that toddler can gain self esteem by attempting to down it. DH even got jam out of fridge and was preparing to re-smear before I stepped in with my meanness. aibu?

ha ha ha ha! tell your dh to get a bloody grip!

Well, though I admit to pandering to my toddler's desire to 'help' with many things (for an easier life) I probably would also have drawn the line at resmearing the jam all over the kitchen.

You could smear jam all over your DH and let DS clean him up instead!

EllieMG · 14/01/2014 10:43

Saggy that is SUCH a brilliant idea!

Please do as saggy says. And report back.

Just let him. And make your DH clean up after. I bet he won't moan at you again...

haha you mean woman! could you not just tell toddler that you think you missed a bit and let them wipe the already clean surfaces?
