To think my DH cannot multi task!

He's filling our a job application online whilst watching a film in TV!
I suggested that maybe it would require 100 % of his attention and that he would be better at the kitchen table but apparently he can multi task! News to me!

Surely you can't be 100% focused on filling out a job application whilst watching the TV at the same time!??!

As long as he triple checks the application the tv may well be a bit of a discretion

formerbabe · 12/01/2014 22:47

Some job application forms can be very tedious.

Joysmum · 12/01/2014 22:47

Surely ultimate tasking involves doing 3 or more tasks at once?

Joysmum · 12/01/2014 22:48

*ultimate = multi

chubbychipmonk · 12/01/2014 22:50

Joys if I ever saw DH doing 3 or more things at once I think I would die of shock!

I'd be pretty fucked off with my husband if he banished me to the kitchen to fill in a tedious form. Surely your husband is a grown-up who is able to realize whether he's paying enough attention to the task at hand? Are you just a teensy weensy bit patronising?

sykadelic15 · 12/01/2014 22:58

I've almost always got the TV on in the background while I do things.

Gruntfuttock · 12/01/2014 23:02

I'm much more able to concentrate on reading or writing anything if there's some background noise from radio (talk not music) or TV.

quirrelquarrel · 12/01/2014 23:15

No offence OP but it would be a bit annoying to have someone on my back about something like that, he's not a child. Can't you compromise and say that when he checks them over he does it without the TV?

chubbychipmonk · 12/01/2014 23:45

He's doing it online, it's not even on it in the background. He literally just stopped typing in the middle of a sentence to watch a bit of the film, then went back to typing. How can that be giving something your full attention?

Maybe I'm being patronising but am beginning to think the reason he's filled out so many applications & not got anywhere is because he's half arsed filling out the form while watching TV at the same time! Confused
