AIBU to want to know what "kicking it" means

I want to know whether it means hanging out, or hanging out and having sex - can someone enlighten me please.

When I was young it meant hanging out with friends.

'smashing it' means to shag someone. Maybe 'kicking it' means same?

Doesn't it mean 'I'm having it'? As in 'I'm gonna kick the arse out of this evening'? Having a Big One; Gonna Smash This; A Top Night Out?
