minus the alchohol.
My Dcs are lovely and wouldn't change them for the world and I know it is the order of things. But they are tween and teenagers now, they stay up later than us. I miss those evenings of putting them to bed at a sensible hour, opening a bottle of wine and enjoying a quiet Friday night at home.
These days it seems it's either a house full of friends, or we are on call for lifts, or they are home with us, which is great, but not peaceful in the slightest.
So Saturday mornings they sleep and will stay there until I wake them or the smell of a bacon sandwich wafts up at lunchtime.
Coffee has replaced the bottle of wine, however, we are watching Netflix in peace snuggled on the sofa with the blinds closed. I have even lit a smelly candle.
I think this is the only way forward until they leave home or start to drive.
