My first AIBU so I'm easing myself in Grin. AIBU that 'posh' cordial or squash tastes vile? I've tried a few now; Belvoir and one called Rock or something but I've poured of it down the sink. I persevered for a while as I didn't want to waste it but then I thought that life was too short to force myself to drink that stuff and have put it down to experience. Give me good old Robinsons any day!

I wonder if Belvoir is pronounced 'beaver' like the castle?

In which case it's an unfortunate name for a posh drink.

MaidOfStars · 10/01/2014 12:30

YABU. Belvoir Lime And Lemongrass cordial is delicious with vodka

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/01/2014 12:48

I would expect so, Kare, as it is made in that area.

Ev1lEdna · 10/01/2014 16:23

Love the Bottle green elderflower and especially love the lemongrass and ginger - gorgeous! Particularly nice with sparkling water. (Also quite nice with vodka and sparkling water!!)

YouStayClassySanDiego · 10/01/2014 16:53

I love the ginger cordial from Belvoir, it's lovely.

I'm also enjoying Rose's lime cordial. that's nice too, really refreshing.

KareKare · 10/01/2014 16:58

I used to live on a Belvoir Rd and everyone pronounced it as it's spelt. I gave up in the end.

skillsandtea · 10/01/2014 18:25

Well I've learnt something today.. I've been pronouncing it phonetically!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/01/2014 22:12

What sort of castle is a beaver?

SecretNutellaFix · 10/01/2014 22:12

I like posh cordial.

Because it is a cordial you do need to make it with far more water than a basic squash.

VikingVagine · 10/01/2014 22:39

Snurk @ bush juice

maddening · 10/01/2014 22:44

I like the Microtower with chilled sparkling water - but a much smaller portion than the one they suggest - it would work well as a spritzer

Quoteunquote · 10/01/2014 22:44

Tom Morrow makes the best cordials you will ever taste

cheaper direct from Tom Morrow's

But just amazing and totally yum.

maddening · 10/01/2014 22:45

Microtower = elderflower

Quoteunquote · 10/01/2014 22:45

and yes that's his real name.

VworpVworp · 10/01/2014 22:59

Ikea do a rather nice rhubarb cordial.

ohyouBBK Belvoir Castle, think it's in Notts, or Leics...

VworpVworp · 10/01/2014 23:01

Ha! I googled- it's in Leics with a NG postcode

Piscivorus · 10/01/2014 23:03

This Xmas we had elderflower cordial and vodka topped off with prosecco. It was lovely!

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 10/01/2014 23:19

I wonder if Belvoir is pronounced 'beaver' like the castle?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/01/2014 12:00
