I value Mumsnet as a haven of decent writing among the linguistic barbarity that abounds on most talk boards.

But of late, standards have taken a bit of a nosedive.

Am I being unreasonable in thinking that:

1)If you can't be arsed to type the final g in words like thinking or going, rendering them as thinkin or goin.

2. If you think nothing of replacing why with 'y'

3. Consider n to be an adequate replacement for 'and'

You are a lazy fuckstick who takes no pride in anything they write?

For heaven's sake, it involves no more than TWO, just TWO more key strokes to render your writing far more legible.

Otherwise would you kindly consider Netmums as an alternative? In the pink, glitttery place I believe 'txt spk' and is mandatory.

I am fully prepared to be told I am being a small minded and precious berk I fear that if we don't take a stand, it will not be long before 'fam' hubz' and 'l'il' abound on these hallowed boards.

i owuld agree but my keyboard is temperamental and even though I type every letter only a few of them come out. however, this is th best it has been in ages in as it is trying to pove that it really is my fault.

I usually MN on my iPad and it's bloody hard to type on. Every letter counts I find, so if you get the odd n or goin then you will just have to lump it, it's worth it for the pearls of wisdom which is conveys. And your op shows you obviously understand it anyway
