Just had a stressful christmas with my family been south to see them for 4 weeks and nothing i do is right....they tell me i shouldn't be still breast feeding my little girl who's 2....tell me what to dress her in....brought disposable nappies from the shop.when there were plenty of fabric ones ready for her...they're young only 50 so not old biddies...they tell me what i should feed my daughter, i just didn't want to spend christmas with them and their negativity towards how i bring up my daughter....they didn't once sayi anything to my brother or his wife....i am being horrible.....

Just because they are family, doesn't mean they aren't twats! It sounds like a totally crap Christmas, and you must be a saint to have put up with that for four weeks!

I have one younger brother and one older sister.
I grew up feeling that I was the least favourite child for all the family and extended family and now I am absolutely sure.
They don;t even always the way they treat me compared to my siblings, it is ridiculous.
I don't really don't know what to do, but now I live as far away from them as possible and keep contact minimum.
It hurts but I am fed up of trying and get their approval and they don't value me as much whilst my siblings piss them right off all the time and they always ben backwards to please them.

If friends or colleagues were that rude and inconsiderate, you wouldn't feel bad for hating them.
Just because they are family doesn't mean they have a free pass to make you feel shit.

4 weeks!? My parents wouldn't be alive if I had spend 4 weeks with them!?!

You don't have to like your family and try to ignore the "helpful" tips, my MIL insists that formula is far better for baby than breast milk and that I shouldn't tickle babies feet otherwise baby will get a stutter. I just smile and tickle away!

Yanbu and should reward yourself with a large vino later xx

My family are selfish, unreasonable bastards for the most part and have no concept of not pushing their will or agenda on others. I steer clear for the most part.
