AIBU?

To think that implantation bleeding is a cruel myth?

It seems designed to first bring hope to those TTC and then dash it!

The minute anyone TTC has an early/late/light period starting, first there's the disappointment of 'damn - I'm out this month', then someone (often said TTCers own brain!) pipes up with "it could be implantation?" and for another 24hrs you live in hope, but it's always AF!!

I searched for IB on MN search over the last year, and not one 'could this be implantation bleeding' thread ended in a BFP.

So WIBU to think it's just an urban myth made up by women who really wanna be pregnant?! (And I count myself in that category btw!)

Ooh it's weird to see an old thread I started on Active - that's happened to me twice tonite! How bizarre.

Ironically since beginning the thread, not only am I now pregnant (31+4) but I also got implantation bleeding! Blush I knew when I ovulated, and very much felt pregnant (sounds silly but true!) and got some spots of blood whilst wiping a few days pre-period, and then once or twice after BFP.

So, it's real, but it's still a bugger - from my POV it was nothing like a period, so if you get bleeding that's like your period, even if it's a wee bit lighter, you're probably not pregnant!

I had it with dd3, to the point I was a bit late and drank at a wedding as I had the pink spotting that morning so put a tampon in and thought nothing of it....

9 months later and DD3 arrived, oops x

I had an implantation bleed with ds2. We were ttc, I have irregular periods (cycle anything between 29 and 44 days) so could not tell if I was overdue for my period as never knew when it was coming. I was due to have my flu jab and it said to alert staff if you there was a chance of pregnancy, so planned to do a test before I left but found what I thought was the start of my period so had the jab, no mention of ttc. It lasted a day, then nothing. Following week I got my bfp!

I had one with DS, until then I was with you thinking it was a bit oaf myth.

I didn't know I was PG at the time and thought it was a period. Found I was pg, went for the scan and they dated me three weeks further gone than I was. When I said that couldn't be right as I'd had a period in that time, she said it was prob an implantation bleed.

I didn't with my first baby though.

Did any of you have implantation bleeding that would have filled a tampon or 2? I'm normally regular as clockwork and have been forever (down to the hour!). This month though (2nd month of ttc) I've got bleeding 8 days after ovulation, its also browner and lighter than normal period (sorry if tmi). I never had implantation bleeding with my first two pregnancies. Am I clutching at straws or is this just a weird early period?

I had it twice. First time, it was browner blood but still way more than a few drops, and lasted two days. I'd just got a BFP so thought it was a MC starting, but all was well.

MuffinMadge, yes - the second time round, it was a lot of blood, bright red and much heavier than when my period usually starts (I suddenly had blood running all down my legs which never happens normally as mine are quite light!). I assumed it was my period, but then it just stopped completely overnight which was odd. Didn't occur to me that I was pregnant though, just assumed it was an odd period.

Oooh Roomba I had given up hope for this month, buts that's just re-ignited it, thank you!

Fingers crossed for a BFP in a week.

I had it in one but it was a tiny orange stain and not lots of blood.

Not with first but yes with second. So much so that I thought I wasn't pregnant and did all the things I wasn't supposed to do.

YANBU. 4 pregnancies. Not a single implantation bleed. If I bleed it's a period. Or a miscarriage. Or I've had a baby. Oh and once it was from vigorous shagging in late pregnancy. But not implantation.

I had a 5-day period... I now have an 11 year old daughter.

I had an implantation bleed this time round. We weren't trying for a baby so when I started bleeding I assumed it was the start of my period. A week later I was feeling a bit queasy. Then thought to myself 'oh, nothing much came of that day of bleeding last week'. Put 2 and 2 together and... BFP.
