Seeing as the government appear to have kicked off their campaign I thought now was the time to start nagging talking about voting.

This weekend's talk about pensions shows in a nutshell why we need to vote. The government - any democratic government worldwide - is swayed by the need to please those they think will vote for them. So if you're not getting what you want from this government you need to vote because it is only when everybody like you votes that the wind will change in your governmental favour.

Register to vote, talk to your friends and family about voting, create some momentum and you will see change. The election of 2015 could see the biggest turn out from women under 40 ever. Anything is possible. There's been talk in the past about the 'mumsnet' election - well wouldn't it be great if that was a reality. Not in the sense of posters all voting one way, that's not the point. The point is wouldn't it be great if every user of this board voted? If every user of this board made their voice heard. It can happen.

I will because I feel I must. But I vote with a heavy heart as the winner here got 56% of the vote last time.

But if everybody who had a heavy heart voted you could see a different result.

A reminder that voting is today.

Bumping as well, am voting on the way back this morning, our voting station is exactly half way between school and home.
A friend is working on one today, she's predicting a bad turnout because it's raining.
FB was worrying last night, a local group I was on (left in disgust over various things last night) was full if people saying they were voting UKIP. None of them knew anything about their other policies! Any attempts to tell them were met with 'well, everybody has bad policies'! Felt a bit sick tbh...

Is it ok to take young children? Going by myself is likely to set off my anxiety but I could do it if we went once DH is home from work & take turns going into a booth with the other looking after the DC. Would we be allowed to do that?

Part of me feels I should vote for someone just to counteract a vote for a party I definitely don't want... I might just write "YABU" though!

It's fine to take children, I took my youngest in when I went.
