I actually got up in the middle of the night and used room spray. He doesn't smell but my god his farts do. WIBU to ask him to sleep downstairs?

Open a window

CaptainSweatPants · 05/01/2014 08:27

Open the window ?

MinesAPintOfTea · 05/01/2014 08:28

You sleep downstairs, he can't help farting in his sleep. And maybe you can both consider your diets.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 05/01/2014 08:29

Make him sleep in these? Grin

MrsLouisTheroux · 05/01/2014 08:31

Grin Window is open! No minesapint I won't be sleeping downstairs because of his problem! Why do I need to reconsider my diet?

You have my sympathies - DH's farts are sulphurous. I keep a box of matches in the bedroom to light to mask the smell. The room hasn't yet exploded.

fluffyraggies · 05/01/2014 08:35

Is there anything specific that he eats that makes it worse OP?

My DH is pretty windy but they only smell very bad if he's been drinking beer or eating allot of leafy veg.

Maybe he could try cutting back on certain foods one at a time and see if it helps? Wheat? Alcohol?

Toecheese · 05/01/2014 08:36

Does he have problems with a specific food? Gluten?

CrewElla · 05/01/2014 08:38

Google fart blanket, it's a thing.

MrsLouisTheroux · 05/01/2014 08:39

I haven't looked into the problem properly TBH! You are right about certain food though. He's been eating loads of cheese though...

MrsLouis I bet it's the cheese! Ask him to cut out dairy in general for a couple of days & see if it gets better.

A friend of mine is lactose intolerant. Her boyfriend was notorious for his horrible farts. She made him cut out dairy (sort of my default) & it's like a miracle cure as the horrendous farts have significantly reduced!

Xfirefly · 05/01/2014 09:03

feel your pain Sad very annoying.

Spermysextowel · 05/01/2014 09:10

Maybe it's because I live with teenage boys, but I really don't get fussed about farts. We eat lots of pulses & green veg, so we will suffer the consequences.

MrsLouisTheroux · 05/01/2014 09:39

Yankee hmm cheese... We have a fridge full left over from NY! I was hoping he'd hoover it up!

MrsLouisTheroux · 05/01/2014 09:43

sperm What is it with men and farts though? Obviously everyone does it but there are a lot of women in my family and none of us let it out. The men do though :(

OP posts:
Spermysextowel · 05/01/2014 09:46

Does lactose intolerant mean that dairy foodstuffs make you gassy or is there more to it?

Spermysextowel · 05/01/2014 09:50

Mrs I'm not sure. As my mother gets older she's more prone to doing the sneeze/laugh/fart thing & still says 'pardon my bottom'.

meditrina · 05/01/2014 09:53

Change in diet.

We visited PILs for a few days over Christmas, and for the first 48 hours back the smell of what DH produced was unbearable. Even he noticed.

LineRunner · 05/01/2014 09:56

Do you think those models knew they were modelling fart pants?

They look so smug, I think they hadn't got a clue.

Spermysextowel · 05/01/2014 09:58

After a meal out with Dsis BIL will almost compete with ds1
Much juvenile blaming each other, or me & Dsis.

PatTheHammer · 05/01/2014 10:00

Those pantsGrin!

Serious question, is he on medication for anything?
My DH had a back op last year and was on various meds, several of which gave him chronic stinky wind.

Or cheese, veg, meat, milk and fizzy drinks are other well known culprits.
