DH has 25 pairs of shoes

He hasn't thrown a single pair out for at least 25 years.

Some are even mouldy

Would IBU to insist on a bigger house so that we can accommodate his shoe collection?

I only have 10 pairs and regularly send some to shoe heaven.

Mr 'Marcos' needs to bag em up for charity shop of his choice....he doesn't have handbags to match does he

I wish he would bag them up but if I dare to suggest it I get and and what have I got against his stuff, blah, blah.

He has not worn some of them since the day I met him.

No matching handbags, unfortunately or they might be worth something on ebay, now that would make him think about parting with them. [Grin]

Op you have my sympathy ....Dp still has clothes with C&A labels in them.
Have you got one of those shoe bank recycling thingy's near by? I'd do a drive by and then plead amnesia

100 ! I simply don't see the need.

I can't just get rid it would be divorce. I'll have to wait till I actually want divorce but then his shoes won't be my problem. Oh the conundrum.

Some of them are very similar .

It's an emotional soother for me. Whenever OH goes to sea I buy a pair .

DS1(19) has more probably, only he has 2 pairs of shoes the rest are trainers.

He loves them. I bought him a pair for his birthday 3 weeks ago, that I lied to DH how much they cost. Not because we can't afford it, but he just doesn't get these things, he thinks you can buy a pair for a fiver! I asked him if he was going to wear them, he said "no I love them too much. I might just keep them on my shelf and look at them!"

My brother is exactly the same. They even look like each other!

I don't think DH loves them and he frequently complains about how much new shoes cost but he bought a new pair this week

C&A circa 1985 before they all closed down over here. He prides himself on the labels
Dp was such a refreshing change from prev oh who was really into clothes and expensive labels ....
Now I'm not so sure....he's practically prehistoric

You only have 10 pairs of shoes? I don't even think 25 pairs is very much. I must have 50+ pairs and that is after a serious cull!

DH had 100s of clothes he never wore when I met him. When we moved in together I went through his wardrobe and bagged everything I'd never seen him wearing (we'd been students together so I'd known him 4 years before we lived together). I told him if he could tell me anything I'd put in a bag he could have it back. It all went to the charity shop. I had to repeat the same exercise several times over the next few years (I was only caught out once when he wanted an old Brazil t-shirt for the World Cup, he'd last worn it for the last World Cup) but now he can do it himself.

My hubby had 48 at the last count. They are all trainers. He wears them but packs them away again in the tissue paper and box. Some of them are real collectors items. I've bought him personalised pairs with his sons' initials/names on them. Old scabby mouldy ones deffo need to be binned though!

My DS is 15 and the exact same except he has lots more! He has no shoes though all trainers and a pair of ugg boots!! Think he has every colour of converse and vans there is!!
All shoes that become too small go back in the box and under his bed!

DH has a huge collection of coats and jackets too

I'm with you Littlewhite I have about as many as GossipMonster we'll ignore the other 100+ in the other wardrobe

I've lost count of the number I have, I think its about 30. I love going through my wardrobe and finding shoes I've forgotten about, its like a friends reunion.
