I like being grumpy.

I've earned the right.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than being grumpy.

It's satisfying on a visceral level.

I'm willing to listen to logical and reasoned arguments persuading me otherwise...

MammaTJ · 03/01/2014 22:49

We would be upset if you were otherwise! Grin

Hmmm. Depends on what constitutes you having earned the right surely? Wink

I however have first dibs as DH has come home from work with a broken wrist, thereby rendering him incapable (seemingly) of performing simple tasks for the foreseeable Hmm (it won't last)

MammaTJ · 03/01/2014 22:53

Tut away sweetiepie!

I have earned the right because I am quite oldish.

I have bitten my tongue for about 3 of my 5 decades.

I am kind to old(er) people, babies and kittens but I can't be expected to put up with the shenanigans of people who vote Tory.

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 03/01/2014 22:58

And Nethuns wouldn't have you Mamma.

They don't like sensible people wiv opinions Shock

OP posts:
Shakey1500 · 03/01/2014 23:01

Oldish- yep can relate to that.

Has the tongue biting ceased for the last two decades? If so, funny isn't it? I've definitely turned the corner and reached the camp of "You know what? I don't actually give a shiney what you think about me and my looks/decision/opinion etc". And it feels bloody liberating!

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2014 23:05

Yes Shakey - during the last 2 decades I have become more and more willing to state my case (not brashly but firmly) and not take crap.

I like it.

Salmotrutta, the Strident Trout - I like the sound of that Grin.

Yy to oldish and grumpish.
One has opinions that one sticks to.
Tongue biting is overrated.
It took me well in to my 5th decade to truly embrace 'assertive'.

Pah!

MammaTJ · 03/01/2014 23:16

Me? I is a sensible person wiv opinions?

I funked I was mild and unopinionated! On here at least! Grin

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2014 23:29

I embrace Strident Troutyness!!

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2014 23:30

And, and, I shouted at DH earlier.

I can't quite remember why, but I'm sure I was striking a blow for womanhood he may have left the loo seat up

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 03/01/2014 23:35

The Strident Feminist Trout

It gets better and better. YANBU of course.
Grin
As I live with 5 owners of male genitalia I get quite strident about toilet seat politics. And grumpy if Toilet Seat Rules are not obeyed with subsequent consequences

GideonKipper · 03/01/2014 23:43

Hmmm I have to disagree. My DH is in his fifth decade and I swear he gets grumpier by the day. It's a pain in the arse to put up with so I'd say yabvvvvvu, you mardy sod.

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2014 23:46

Now, I used to live with 4 sets of male genitalia whilst growing up.

Then I left home and lived in flats with varying numbers of male inhabitants.

By the time I got to DH he didn't stand a chance really...

Poor DH - he is remarkably laid back in the face of my unashamed grumpiness.

And he suffereth mightily at present with horrible sinuses. He has only mentioned it twice.

Rock on DH!

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 03/01/2014 23:48

Bog off Gideon.

I am NBU.

I will be as Mardy as I see fit!

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 04/01/2014 00:00

I was joking by the way Gideon - just in case you didn't realise. Wink

But whilst we are here... I'm the only fish in the village...

OP posts:
GideonKipper · 04/01/2014 01:07

You see, you're so bloody grumpy that you have to have a spreadshit Wink.

Plenty of fishes in this sea...

YouTheCat · 04/01/2014 01:11

I'm an old grumpy git. mmmmmeeeehhhh

PacificDogwood · 04/01/2014 11:47

Grin I missed the spreadshit last night - I thought a spreadshit was some kind of agricultural machine used to fertilise fields.

Much as that has cheered my up, today I am grumpy because a. the LibDems and politicians in general and b. my house still being overrun by Christmas. At least that I can change today.
Humph.
