"Chicken curry, lovely", really aggravating on those diet chef adverts?

I don't think it helps that she then goes on to place 4 mouthfuls of "lovely chicken curry" on the table. I'd flipping lose weight if that constituted a main meal for me.

the worst ones are the special K diets - eat a teeny tiny bowlful for breakfast and again for lunch and a normal dinner and see the weight drop off. And be starving all day long!!

ThreeWisePerpendicularVinces · 01/01/2014 16:51

And the way she laughs when her boyfriend steals one of her crisps is really annoying too. If someone steals your snacks when you're dieting surely you'd chase after them?

Heartbrokenmum73 · 01/01/2014 16:53

Special K is for people who have had their taste-buds surgically removed.

Bleurgh...

Buzzardbird · 01/01/2014 16:55

I did that special k diet and put on weight. That stuff is blatantly sold as a diet food but is higher in carbs and calories than most foods.

DoingItForMyself · 01/01/2014 17:01

I noticed how little they actually show of the food, it must be really crap if they can't even dress it up for an advert to look appetising!

It looks like a child's portion to me! In fact I had a cunning plan for a diet company which was basically selling a small plate, bowl and kid size cutlery. Dragons' Den here I come.

RandyRudolf · 01/01/2014 17:16

There is nothing healthy about Special K three times a day. You'd have to be mad. A varied diet and smaller portions does the trick for me.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 01/01/2014 17:43

yup anyone who eats teeny portions of regular healthy balanced food will lose weight. dunno why it is rocket science. combine it with a bit of activity and hey ho weight loss. what most of these 'diets' fail to take into consideration is that food is often more complicated by emotional stuff and not just as easy to deal with as cutting back etc if it were no one would be overweight!

UsedToBeNDP · 01/01/2014 17:49

All of those idiotic hamper diets are lunacy. No fresh veg included so that's all added cost, shopping and prep and microscopic portions of disgusting looking microwave food or snack things like tiny, half empty bags of diet crisps. Foul waste of money.

Shakenbakep · 01/01/2014 18:28

three me and dp had that exact conversation the other day! I told him if I was living off that stuff and he stole some I would be laughing.... Maniacally as I throttled him! He agreed that he wouldn't dare. I don't do well on diets...

daisychain01 · 01/01/2014 18:50

I agree, Special K are shite - more nutrition in the cardboard box they came in! Aren't the new recipe ones vile - sickly sweet and texture like wood-shavings
