Friends of ours are due their first baby any day soon. They've sent a email and announced the sex and said that they will announce the name when baby is born.

BUT

They've also the name 'will surprise everyone' and 'we'd appreciate it if you don't make any comments that aren't positive- this is our decision'.

What the fuck have they named this child? I am DYING to know. It's just unfair!

It better be a fucking amazing name with all the pretentiousness of sending an email like people give that much of a shit.

Also, I really hope they try and give the babe a 'unique' name that is, in fact, common!

How about getting a puppy then, when they have the BIG reveal, look horrified and tell them that you have already given the puppy the same name and already ordered an engraved collar/bowl/bed etc.

I must say tho i am contemplating prefacing the announcement of our dc2 name with a warning and a death stare. We thought our dc1 name was completely normal and lovely and it never even occurred to us that people may make negative comments i'm looking at you Mum and Dad
